I salute your resilience and discipline. You kept going even after a -8 -2 -8, you knew it. You trusted the market. The new trader fails exactly here. As soon as he or she hits those 3 in a row. they are out. they are angry, crazy , they mistrust their own abilities, they mis trust the market. But the Best Traders Never RUN AWAY. (unless they have to. some times you have to. if you find out hat you're too angry or too upset. then it is best not to trade. Even to me it happens. But I have to constantly monitor myself.). Well Done buddy!Grant wrote:Afternoon all
If you haven't seen these in the new thread created by Immy then here are my trades of today's am and pm sessions...
I stopped trading for Draghi's speech hence why there are only 2 entries in the pm session
cheers

What is the Secret of Successful Trading?
The Consistent Pursuit of DS1
The thing that makes me money in trading is when I "Objectively Follow my Trading Plan".
I understand that I can't catch all the moves or all the signals but my objective is to catch THE VALID SIGNALS & ONLY the Valid Signals.
My Deathbed Advice "5:1 Reward to Risk Ratio".

Re: Grants Journal
Hi Grant.
Great journal btw - I have just started following your posts and am amazed at your consistency!
I did have a question though and I was wondering how far above/below the Aims box that you place your pending orders? It looks like you use about 3 pips as there are some small breaks that you don't enter.
Also, it looks like you mostly place trades after the gator is sleeping and relatively flat which must keep the Aims box reasonably small, but what would be the maximum size of Aims box that you would trade on the EJ?
Cheers.

Re: Grants Journal
Morning,
The broker i trade through (GKFX) has 5 digits so :
For long trades on EJ i will round up to 4 digits and then add 3
For short trades on EJ i will round down to 4 digits and subtract 2
This means that 9 times out of 10 the bid and ask prices have both cleared the aims level before the PO is triggered.
As for max size for aims on EJ, i am currently using 15 pips, but obviously the smaller the better..
hope this helps

Hi Grant
how are you?
I did not take 11:04 on ej (9:04 london time) as i did not see any 1-2 but caught both eu and ej at 11:56, still struggling with red line exit
WSC
Cheers

Re: Grants Journal
Bjr Bjr Erik,
Yes 1104 was no trade and 1156 was no trade for me on GKFX....
That said on closer inspection the candles that formed the aims that you traded all had the same low, so technically not an AIMS level as per the indy but nevertheless a good level to get short from.... Shame i wasnt paying enough attention.....

Re: Grants Journal
NO such thing as noob questions ....
so red line is the alli red line, a close above/below once in a trade is a red line exit
as for 1-2 its waves 1 and 2 where we are actively looking to get into the 3rd wave....
i say actively unless you were me earlier..... (rofl) (rofl)

Dont do reading on the waves. It will set you back. Just trade the setup in the direction of the trenddmfx wrote:Thanks for the answer. It is the waves that confuse me a bit so I shall do some reading up on them.Grant wrote:NO such thing as noob questions ....
