Unread post by CHEROMEYS »

Hi All,

Does anyone how to tell if it's swap or Commission that will be charged to a trade? also how it's Calculated?

Cheers

Swap is calculated if you let a trade run over night. Its usually a complex calculation which even your broker cannot tell you what would it be in exact figures as it depends on interest rates, exchange rates etc at the time of taking the swap. But consider it a very small but recurring cost if you let your trade run over night. No need to worry about it on our time frames.

Commission, is usually not variable and its a fixed percentage based on lot size etc. Your broker will give you clear instruction as to how much commission they will charge you per lot. They will usually tell you figures such as $60 per 1 million units etc. Which basically will translate into $6 per lot. so if you trade .1 lot that its 60C.

I hope it makes sense. Its brief but I think it should help.
