Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal
Hi everyone, some more nice moves this evening that I was fortunate to get on board with. Rent to start the session, not my proudest trade, I was blinded by the HTF break but the M1 entry was ugly, didn't let it clear the H1 level either, ah well, next. And there were a few good opportunities, AU, EU, but the yens were great!
I have guests tonight so couldn't really leave them open much longer, gave them a little chance, and I know this is an area of my trading that I can improve.
Enjoy the weekend!

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal
No trading yesterday as I have family visiting, but I enjoyed tonight:
AU, saw the overall trend as long and was aiming to catch the start of the M15 W5, not to be. UJ, love it, very happy with the way I managed the open position and patiently waited for the genuine exit signal from M5, trailed M1 after the complete W5.

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal
A nice start to the new week. A little disappointed to see the profit of the initial position dissolve but I stand by my decision to both let it run, but then also to move the stop loss after the retest of the M5 and M15 levels.
And then the cracking setups of the evening that I didn't take. Sometimes it's great to say "I'm done" after hitting a nice trade early. Sometimes you can miss out on a bit extra. This time I missed out, but no worries
Cya tomorrow

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal
Unfortunately I didn't take this trade, it went off before Euro Open, but this is price action I just love.
- M5 breaks and makes a lower low,
- M5 retraces and gives the correct candle formation to form a new AIMS level,
- The new M5 level corresponds with the turn of M1 and an S1.
Simply perfect! Edit: And here it is again, albeit this time on the DAX....

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal
This is a quick question for anyone with some coding skills.....
Simplified version, but.... If I am comparing an M1 candle with an M5 candle, and I want to know if the high of the most recent M1 candle ( High ) is greater than the high of the most recently closed M5 candle, given that the M1 candle will most often close while the M5 candle is still open, do I refer to or [i+1] for M5?
In other words, if M1 checks M5 , will it check the most recently closed M5 candle or will it refer to the M5 candle that is still open?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Dave,
I may have misunderstood what you are asking but as far as I am aware the current bar is index 0 so if you want the most recently closed M5 candle it would be index 1. For example, if you declare that i=0 as in your example then i+1 would be the most recently closed M5 candle.
I am certainly not the best MT4 coder though!
Cheers.
