PaulF's Journal
Well here we go, and it looks like this is going to be a steep learning curve for me! Disastrous day, roughly level on GU but way down on EU. If you've got time to have a look, please be scathing.... embarrass me so I don't post figures like this ever again!
Also, please say if the screenshots aren't clear, maybe Grant's style of reporting is better...?

Re: BobbyF's Journal
Honestly, I'd prefer if you just upload the images and write with it. Grants doing that because he already does his recording in that fashion for his clients/friends etc.
Now let me have a look and i shall comment in a bit

Re: BobbyF's Journal
ok,
heres what i think on the EU trades...
trade 1 -5.7 - i dont have blue line of alli on my chart so for me its no trade as green and red arent asleep.
trade 2 -6.6 - i took this for -4
trade 3 -9.4 - alli wasnt asleep so i was waiting for a fresh aims level, so PO above the high of the last swing in your pic was never triggered,
trade 4 -6.1 - i had a PO at 1.3360 which was never triggered by the first aims break (GMT 0927, low of 1.33603), then cancelled it as AO had lost momentum and turned to dark red
trade 5 -1.6 - passed on this trade as m5 aims level was too close to the m1 PO.
i managed to end the day at -11 so dont beat yourself up. tomorrow is another day...
hope this helps

Hi Grant
Many thanks for taking the time to check my "efforts"!
I don't follow your technique on Setup 2 trades. Am I right in thinking that if the alligator is awake, you won't place an order above the "current" AIMS level, but will wait for the subsequent AIMS level to form after the alert dot, and place an order above this? Why is this?

Re: BobbyF's Journal
Morning Bobby,
i hope i can explain this ok.. lol
When Imran designed the system one of the entry rules was always enter on a break of an aims level which should show momentum in the direction of our trade. The dots appear on the close of the candles on our charts.
On occasion these candles will have already broken aims thus making it a no trade due to the aims break entry rule.
So now i wait for a fresh aims level then re check all the rules to make sure the set up is valid, especially is the AO close to 0 line.
If its all ok i place the trade if not i will wait for the next set up.. On the m1 TF as you will have seen we dont have to wait very long...
hope this helps

Re: BobbyF's Journal
Hi Grant
I do understand that if the "pip candle" pierces the AIMS level, then we should wait for the next AIMS level....
But if I look at your flow chart, there is a difference between Setup 1 and Setup 2. For Setup 1 you have the question "Is dot completely inside AIMS"? and you don't take the trade if it isn't.
For Setup 2 you instead have the question "Is there a fresh AIMS level after dot?"
Is that just a different way of phrasing exactly the same question?

Re: BobbyF's Journal
HI Bobby
Before Grants answers, the reason you look for a fresh aims in most cases is because the fact that the dot candle has broken AIMS Level already. and when it breaks that the alligator opens its mouth. so you need a fresh AIMS Level because we only make entries on break of AIMS.
I hope Grant will shed more light on this! It NOT a different way of phrasing the same question. Big Differnce
cheers

Re: BobbyF's Journal
Bobby,
well done for spotting a flaw in the flow chart...... there should be some way of moving from set up 1 to set up 2 and at the moment there isnt..
writing how you trade isnt as easy as trading the damn thing i guess...
i have switched the dot and purple line questions around so that if you answer no to the dot inside aims question then you are directed to the set up 2 questions....
thanks for pointing out the mistake again
