Re: Ray's amnesty page
AusUsd H1
For the first time in all of this week I have seen the price go below the blue line........
Fairly heavy selling around 1100GMT. Could be profit taking.
In spite of towards purple, I could not help shorting it on break of aims after DA, the SL isn't too bad

h1 aussie, rolling over nicely, I hope she keeps going
Admittedly the AO hasn't yet crossed the zero line but it's very near.
H4 is on the 3rd red candle
fingers crossed. Not many people trading today generally in the communities I talk amongst

Re: Ray's amnesty page
Confessing to being too greedy on that AusUsd, knocked out at BE while I wasnt watching. Ah well. Rap knuckles. Ouch.
Seems like UJ and EJ have been fun today.
LAST MAIN TRADING DAY OF THE QUARTER APART FROM MONDAY. ANYTHING CAN GO STUPID ON SUCH A DAY.
PS. I went back in the same trade. See if I can cream a few pips off. I don't get em all right
17:45 closed for 7 pips.
22.5 total pips today for quite a lot of effort really, not quite stressfree, but very positive in spite of a few fares paid for riding the wrong way!

Re: Ray's amnesty page
I'm not running the strategy down, but I've had a stupid day, with 3 consecutive rent trades
Asked my self all the usual questions, whether for example the setups were valid, and arguably they were, but in what I was doing the market didn't want to reflect the usual pattern
Decided best thing would be to walk away for the day, which is what Immy and others suggest when this happens.
It gave me chance to think about emotions of trading.
Just wondered what routine people might go through to exercise their minds and eyes to look for the right entries, right stops and right targets as I believe one can wake up, go to the computer, see something going on and decide far too quickly to partake in it. That is dangerous behaviour, especially before markets get going (FO/LO etc) and even more dangerous on a Monday when the action of Friday evening and Sunday night are hardly reliable indications of how it's going to go.

Re: Ray's amnesty page
I've been studying just how valuable the purple line is even in higher time frames
I know the rule for trading away from trend (to avoid wave 4s) is critical in M1 and M5 but I am still on the whole finding it still to be valid on M30 and H1, although adherence to the rule would halve the number of potential trades
I'm also impressed by the result of looking for a break of aims soon after a cross of the green line (lips) or period 5 exponential H+L/2 close to a cross with a slow MA of around 80
This gave me 30 pips yesterday and 25 today
, GU (20), EG (10), UChf (10), EU (15), oh and fortunately some positive slippage thrown in too.
Those TPs would be my intended targets for the future, working off M30 and H1, on a SL which gives 1:1 RRR, or SL of opposite Aims level if lower
Thought for the day: How long should we be IN a trade? I know the higher the TF the slower it may play out.
I wonder if there is some virtue in incrementally REDUCING the SL (eg hourly) of trades which aren't moving the right way.
I know this might stop me out more often, but for a rent which gets nearer to the opening price as time passes.

Euro. Ugly mess around multiple news releases , but potentially good for straddle traders

Re: Ray's amnesty page
I decided to wait, there's not much economic news today, maybe I'd have done ok on USDCHF (Short) at FO/LO or EURUSD (Long)
I've suffered in the past from entering too soon on Monday mornings, the Asian session can't be relied on to set the tone for me.
Anyway am long now of GBPUSD, normal S1 rules apply. M30. H1 has also broken aims level, and in H4 price is higher than lips.
H1 would be towards purple, so I wonder if this is a corrective rather than impulse wave. Watching it closely
=========
14:50, out with +21 pips, against 20tp original stop, while I wasn't watching

Re: Ray's amnesty page
6am GMT, 7am in UK time
Due to trading mainly higher timeframes I have flicked through the 10 or so pairs which I might follow, and the alligator and AO distance from ZL tells me to go away for a couple hours as there are no developing S1 setups at the moment. That's unless I think of a short on EurGbp in the near term.
Patience of this kind got me 21 pips from the only trade I did yesterday, (and even 2% out of NFP), and I only saw a couple other pairs which brought setups of the sort I think are highest probability. Having said that I cancelled a pending order at bedtime on Audusd which I notice this morning would have gone my way while I slept!
I'd be interested in other peoples' thoughts of what I'm doing. m30 and h1
Basically the indicators are the standard Aims settings eg Aims box, alligator and alerts, Ewaves (or AO).
PLUS ema crossover alert, (which is either an up arrow or down arrow available free various places on the www), fast line 4, slow line 60. (draw the lines if you dont mind a cluttered screen). I prefer S1 trades near these crosses as they are usually respectful of the purple line also.
TP roughly 30pc of ATR, SL 15 or height of aims box whichever the lower.
Cheers
