Tracker's Journal
Hi Guys,
I have been kicking the subject of starting my journal down the road for quite some time, but today I put an end to that.
So here it goes.
I am trading the Dax with a small live account on M1.
- Fixed lot size.
- London Open for two hours
- NY Open till 16:30 (GMT + 1)
- Fruit + Add On
- SL stays above Fruit till the price moved through the gator, then I trail the AimsLevel as hard SL
- If price pulls away from the gator and a Fruit is formed my SL goes above that Fruit
- If price moves parallel to the gator I use the green line as exit signal
I feel confident, that this journal will help me to trade with the discipline required in trading.
Regards,
Tracker

Camp 4: Fruit Short (mistake)

Hi Michael,
that's what I am hoping for. I often read your journal and followed your progress.
Well done by the way.

Re: Tracker's Journal
Congratulations on taking this important step. Now please listen to me and apply to 20 Trades Principle. This will keep your mind fixated on the principle of probabilities and you won't feel good or bad at the outcome of your trades. Because you will be waiting for 20 trades only then you will assess your strategy, your performance or whatever else. Meanwhile you will simply enjoy the process like a busy bee. It would be more powerful and beneficial if you consider 1 Campaign as one trade. and complete 2 campaigns. IF you trade a fruit with 1 trade and it turns into rent that is 1 campaign, if you trade a fruit plus add on and both turn into rend that is 1 campaign. since you're adding on only once, counting 2 trades will be one campaign.Tracker wrote:Hi Guys,

Total: blah de blah.

and yes, dont' forget to always write down your mental state, emotional condition etc each time you record a trade. This will help you in ways that I cannot explain.
Now if you simply follow the elegantly written simple plan that you have written yourself. That's all what's required of you to be successful.
All the best.

Re: Tracker's Journal
Hi Guys,
second day of my journal. Had to attend to other business during the morning session, but I think I didn't miss to much.
Camp 9: Was rather lame attempt; market was not moving at all; typical afraid to miss something move
Trade 1: Fruit - 5 Pips
Camp 10: Short Fruit with some angulation + Add on got stopped out above AL
Trade 1: Fruit + 3.1 Pips
Trade 2: Add On - 3.3 Pips
Camp 11: Long Fruit with angulation + Add on got out on trailing candles
Trade 1: Fruit + 50 Pips
Trade 2: Add On + 38.4 Pips
------------------------------------
Total 83.2 Pips
Trailing Aims would have kicked me out at the same price so I am Ok with the exit there; I have been thinking about a second Add On above 11142.2,
but decided against it because I didn't want to be stuck with a second add on again that just hovers around it's entry price.
I tried to stay out of that up and down chop after I entered long with the 16:01 Fruit which worked pretty good this time.

Re: Tracker's Journal
I really like the structure of your journal now
Campaign 1:
Trade 1
Trade 2.
Lovely... and you made over 80 pips.
The thoughts about the 2nd add on is not correct. Point number 1. its not part of your plan yet to add twice. If it was your plan, what ever you said about "lingering around etc" is rubbish. if you have it in your plan, and there is an add on level , you add on. PERiOD.
Point number 2. read point number 1
hehe
ps: a very well managed trade. well done. I got myself busy with the currency a bit so almost lost the track there. won't do that again.

Re: Tracker's Journal
Thanks for your evaluation and your comments, Immy.
There was not much movement in the market today. I gave it a few tries during the morning session and during the afternoon session and stopped trading after it was obvious to me that there was nothing to be gained if I carry on. I always start trading a little to early, put a PO in before LO, because I don't want to miss a possible breakout. Most of the time I have two rents there right from the start. I have to stop that.
If I made two decisions different it would have been a break even day or even a small win.
Camp 12: S1 short (got stopped out and then got short in again; At least one of those rents was a waste.)
Trade 1: S1 - 5.8 Pips
Camp 13: S1 short
Trade 1: S1 - 7.6 Pips
Camp 14: S1 long (could have closed it below the second Fruit there, but stayed below AL to give the trade some space)
Trade 1: S1 - 1.0 Pips
Camp 15: S1 short
Trade 1: S1 + 9.2 Pips
Camp 16: Long Fruit with angulation
Trade 1: Fruit - 9.8 Pips
Camp 17: Long Fruit with angulation + Add On (Got kicked out below AL; would have been better to close it below the AA Fruit and SAR there)
Trade 1: Fruit - 9.8 Pips
Trade 2: Add On - 9.3 Pips
Camp 18: S1 long (got stopped out and then got in short; same situation as in the morning but this time it kind of worked)
Trade 1: S1 - 10.0 Pips
Camp 19: S1 short (the best entry would have been the fruit, but decided against it as volume was so low)
Trade 1: S1 + 9.0 Pips
----------------------------------
Total - 35.1 Pips
