FireAtWill's Trading Extravaganza (a laugh a minute)

Unread post by FireAtWill »

Greetings Fellow AIMSters!

I had composed an inaugural post with a bit of background about myself, but it turned into a bit of a novel, so I'll keep it short.
I am attempting to trade my first 20 trades, while maintaining discipline by not looking at any other tactics/techniques/strategies.
I hope to be able to contribute to this forum and add value where I can.

First five trades are laid bare below (all S1 trades, except one, on EU M1/M5), all trades were for paying rent, but I was not phased, as I am trying to be mechanical as well as methodical in my trading.

First trade, I'm relaxed, a little excited to be putting on the first T20 trade!
D1-1
Order#76132442.png
Next long trade I was triggered in on a red candle(!), paid more rent (10 pips)
D1-2
Order#76136048.png
Another long trade, stopped out for rent of -8 pips (this was an S2 because 'gators mouth was already open?)
D1-3
Order#76137439.png
First short trade of the night, stopped out for -11 pips
D1-4
Order#76142530.png
Last trade of the night, short trade stopped out for -8 pips
D1-5
Order#76143865.png

Welcome to AIMS!
Just remember, always make your entries at the start of the wave. Whether it be S1/S2 or fruit or seed, if eWave is not turning back from a peak and it's showing multiple bars of resumed direction then you're too late. I refer to your second picture, there's 6 green candles and about 12 pips of upward price movement before your entry so it's a bit late. Catching the entries at the start of the wave let's you stay consistently profitable because, a) your stop loss is close, and b) you're in the trade from the very start of the move, so you catch the bulk of whatever is available.
Enjoy and good luck :D

Thanks for the welcome, Dave, and the critique.

On the trade in question, I was actually waiting to get triggered on the level above the AIMS box, but I supposed I should pick smaller boxes.

Cheers

Yep, smaller box, and preferably this sort of box pattern (IMHO), HTF pullback and LTF continuation

Thanks Dave, will take under advisement, but before I saw your post, had to pay more rent :(

Long trade, stopped out for -7 pips
D1-6
Order#76290224.png
Then, to keep things consistent, more rent paid of -3 pips
D1-7
Order#76292528.png

Hey! keep laughing mate... keep going... you've done the best you could do to enable yourself to enjoy the process of learning. All traders must keep a journal because all great traders have always kept one. Bigger organisations spend multi millions dollars in salaries and office expenses for such "journal keeping" (record keeping). We can do the same. Trading is less about the system and more about YOU! you can only find out about yourself if you look into the "proverbial" mirror. (the market)

cheers keep going.

Thanks Immy, as you've said elsewhere, it's all pattern recognition.

But, more rent to be paid:

Long trade, stopped out for -8 pips
D1-8
Order#76363947.png
Long trade, stopped out for -2 pips
D1-9
Order#76366083.png
I will attempt to time entries on pull-backs/resumption of trend.

Greetings AIMSters,

Short trade stopped out for -10 pips
D1-10
Order#76491312.png
Long trade that produced profit, planning my retirement as I write this :ymdaydream:
D1-11
Order#76496730.png
But not wanting to break with tradition, and showing how not to do things by halves, a Short trade I should not have taken! (was on the wrong side of Purple on M5, was not paying attention, serves me right)
D1-12

Have a wonderful, pip-filled day!

The correct setup was the buy setup , just after you closed your short. but even that had a problem. it was not within a trending market on m5.

I suggest you watch the videos, tutorial ones and daily digest ones. plus the video "how to trade the arrows". Hope you find it some where in the video section
