Hi everyone,

Frustrating day today despite a solid performance. I seemed to be elsewhere when the set ups occurred, so I had an expensive (and cold) bike ride and trip to the barbers with my 10 year old…

Anyways I did catch 1 trade for +13 (1%) today so like I said yesterday 1% per trading day for the year is good enough

Trade records including pics are posted below.

Cheers
Grant

Well Done Grant! I got better today 2 trades that got me over 2%! like you said, 1% a day means 500% a year! LOL

Hi Grant,

A couple of trade management questions please :

With your disaster SL of 13 pips.....is this always equal to 1% of your account, so no matter if you immediately move your stop to 'say' 10 pips (aims level), your lot size calculation based on this trade is on the 13 pips ?

When you say in your Trade Management document +/- 3 pips, is this to take account of the spread, +1 ?

The SL of 13 pips, does this include the spread ?

Thanks again,
Franky

Morning Franky,

Yes 13 pips is always 1%, every night i recalculate the lotsize for the next day, so if i pay a rent of 10 pips its 0.76%.....

The +/-3 does include the spread (1.6 for me at Alpari)

Again the 13 does include the spread as well

Hope this helps

Hi Grant, thanks for all the detailed trade info. Just wanted to ask exact timing for move to a) trigger candle +_ 3, b) -4 at +5, c)b/e at 10. Do you wait for a close of a candle with these profits, or move the stop as soon as the levels are hit. I'm using the VE_AIMS to move levels, and moving stops when one of the specified levels is reached.
Running live account on 4hr FMM, demo for AIMS until sure how to use it.
Many thanks , Richard

Morning Richard,

The trigger candle SL move is once the candle closes, the rest are as soon as the levels are hit.

I dont have a BE at +10 move, i will just trail aims or candles once the -4 move is completed

hope this helps

thanks Grant, much appreciated. My problem over many year's trading is getting out too soon, so p/l ratio is never good. trying to find a happy medium with AIMS. I find it hard to watch 10/11 pips disappear to BE, as just happened about 30 mins ago, but if I jump out as soon as there is a sign of reversal I kick myself. (trade on EUR 0753GMT today, entry 1.2934, late entry, max available 11, several chances to take 5 to 7 pips after AO changed to dark green. Would you have taken those closes? did have stop at BE so no harm done. Richard

Yes it was a nice move Richard but for me it was a no trade... at 0928 (Alpari) the AO was too far from 0 line although it looks a lot better now (lol) then it didnt set up at all at 0942.

As we say in the Skype be patient and the next set up will be along soon

cheers
