Re: The SEED
so with the end of the week comes the end of July trading for me.
The week was much much better (despite Monday and Tuesday) as DAX actually trended.
Week and month pics attached.
I will now be away til Sept as my wife and kids have all finished their school terms and are now off...
I wish you all many many pips and an enjoyable rest of summer

Re: The SEED
Evening All,
My good lady has gone out to celebrate the end of school year with her colleagues and has left me all alone....
So here i am sat with a beer watching the Open Championship golf on my laptop whilst analysing my monthly results from July as i do after every month, (as all traders should do)...
Immy and I were chatting a few days ago about exits and whether or not just taking 1:2 on every trade has any merit... Well, he knew i would look at it in a bit more detail (disturbing that he knows me that well i guess) and so attached are each week starting from the 29th June when i started posting here again...
Just for ease of tracking i took the max R:R from the swing before a green line trail exit so no TP's and also if a trade didn't make the respective R:R i put it down as a BE trade. I know that some of them may have locked in profit on a trail stop but as i have had a couple of lagers i couldn't be bothered to go into that much detail.... (rofl)
definately food for thought...
Grant
ps. would be interesting to see what Augusts results will look like, nudge nudge wink wink Immy or anyone else brave enough...
pps.. i was lucky enough to get a beta version of the unbelievably great star fruit indy ( ^:)^ ^:)^ Steve) on the weekend before week of the 13th July.... Looking back over the M1 chart for July i am very very excited and really can't wait to get back in September and trade...
BUT until then goodbye again (i will be reading the forum
and wish you many pips....

I saw that you've posted something, on my phone and then I thought no, i'm not going to read this while i'm still sitting in the dressing room at the cricket club. So I waited, came home after a good banter with the lads and a good meal at the club. Read the post and it was a good read.
I'll keep it short. I had a hypothesis that a 1:2 TP will create a smooth equity curve and so far its proving to be true. But I must say that your manual trade management has been more effective then 1:2 or 1:3 exits so far. And I'm sure that your manual trade management will, in the long run beat the 1:2 formula but what it provides here is an option for us. If you're new to trading you might want to get the entries right and set a 1:2 TP and don't touch it after wards. You might want to apply the move to BE after lets say 1:1 is hit or if it just misses the 1:2 target something along those lines. I'll be happy to open 2 trades each with 0.5% risk set 1 to 1:1 and manage the other on green line close, fruit exit or trailing mechanism. I think this approach will allow for even bigger winners but we could also go for a 1:2 target point and mechanically bring SL to BE after 1:1 is hit. This can be automated so all you will do is click the red or blue button on the "mighty" FTM (thanks to STEVE)... and then just let it hit that TP
Looking forward to Monday
PS: all the skypers are privileged to have you, Michael, Steve, Tomi (hopefully soon) Kyle, David, Darren and the rest of the lot.
pss: We will keep the Star Fruit to Skypers only for now!

Re: The SEED
Just posted some lines in Skype thought I'll Copy and paste here as well.
I seriously think if we follow grants technique we will not only trade according to AIMS Fruit Concept as well as Setup 1 concept by following the Seed concept and the new Star addition.
[20:43:56] Immy - AIMS: So Seed and Stars with the double A entries we are trading Fruits, Seeds (setup 1 of lower time frame in the direction of current time frame) and fruit on pullbacks in the direction of trend i.e. Star Fruits (might change the name to Candy for this as calling it fruit creates confusion)
[20:45:00] Immy - AIMS: The biggest advantage of this strategy is that it definitely takes care of the problem of OVER TRADING (David
)
[20:46:55] Immy - AIMS: many a times you will see Candy (ahem i.e. Star Fruits ) and Seeds at the same spots. The concept for Candy and seed is the same. You need an open gator, a peak of eWave (not too big though) near the start of the wave (i.e. freshly broken out of range) the chart pattern that needs to exits before you consider taking Candy or Seed is created by following Grants Flow Chart.
[20:48:20] Immy - AIMS: AA fruit ofcourse appears within 4th wave. So you have a clear wave 3, then there is enough pullback , 38% to 50%, often happens near purple line, and you spot an AA (Adam's apple). More on Adam's Apple is of course in the Fruit eBook with loads of e xamples.

BTW the concept behind star fruit which we would call candy from now on is based on bdc which was introduced way before fruit itself
