I think this might have been a very nice Famous setup.
Not sure but it looks good. Flat after Asian session
on M15 ending with an AA telling us to go in for
W5 of 5 on M15

If I'm even slightly right and they are as repetitive
and predictable as Sam suggests I wonder
why anyone would want to miss out on them

Sam has doubled his account a few times with them
and unless I'm mistaken risks 2% a trade

Obviously not done him any harm so far!

Fantastic!

Boomtown Rats should have been Aimsters!

My EU trade made +20. my GU trade below just
hit TP for +18

I paid a minimal -3 rent on the EU AA that didn't
work out

Everything is in perfect proportion!

I have a 66% strike rate

Average win +19, average rent -3

Just rinse and repeat

I'll certainly try! :)

USDCAD caught my eye

Not any specific system but enough boxes are ticked

A nice impulsive W3 on the H1, Gator opened up and
retrace after first peak on AO - Perfect!

On M15 a likely impulsive W5 with Cherry, fairly recent cross
of ZL.

SL below AIMS at a very acceptable 10 pips and this is
on M15 not M5 so that is very pleasing. I won't be in
too much of a hurry to move stop, I can live with 10 pips
on an M15 chart

We are walking straight into resistance at prior AIMS.

If We clear that level we might make it as far as TZ1
on H1 90 pips away. That will be RR 1:9 !

Will we make it? I doubt it

but if there is a chance of moving SL to BE later
we will then at least have a chance of 90 pips
with no risk

But at the moment we are not even clearing
the initial resistance from Prior AIMS.

I should have checked this before placing PO
and waited until we did clear it.
---------------------------

Just stopped out for -10 pips. no big surprise there

Things going a bit wrong on M15 but on H1 if we
can clear that initial resistance we should make it
to the next upper AIMS some 36 pips away

with SL below the initial resistance hopefully turned
support at -16 pips better than 1:2 but I think
it will have a clear run which of course is the most
naive expression you can ever hear in trading terms!

I cancelled the above PO. I think I'm probably right and
would have made 36 pips

but I am woefully missing a setup.

yes you can trade support and resistance without any
AIMS indicators but thats not what I am doing

so what has happened?

I started off squeaky AIMS clean, everything was in place
particularly retrace of AO and Cherry, confluence of TFs

but the market decided to take a decidely non AIMS stance
and went a bit haywire, ignoring all the AIMS rules! well
the market does things like that, thats why we get rents.

so how did I respond? - a 10 pip rent, Next!

No not me! I just did what so many of us do in these
circumstances -

''If the market won't play by the rules than neither will I!
Two can play at that game! ''

Unfortunately that is not a game that you will ever win!

I snapped out of my delusion in time and cancelled the PO.
so I'm going out today but no adrenalin rush anticipating
a juicy win that might be waiting for me when I get home.

This is psychologically pivotal

The art of walking away is truly a milestone on the path
to trading success

I am now able to monitor my emotions, to more clearly
understand myself and my need for a trading fix but also the
higher need for discipline and self control.

To walk away from this chart with a very affordable -10 pip
rent, to not allow ego to seek revenge on the market
to prove to all that I (Cassius Clay) cannot be beat!

I can be beat, I am often beat, I will continue to often be
beat. but I have no need to fight against that anymore or
allow any emotion to enter the picture

I will calmly win some and also lose some and I can calmly
let the numbers play out by just sticking to the rules
and waiting patiently for valid setups.

I'm just thinking out loud here, but good affirmations

Value Trades

Monitoring NZ. The orange horizontal lines are prior resistance
that I am not going to ignore today!

When the next small box forms on M15 it should mean a 30 pip SL

That's more than I would like so break of AIMS and prior resistance
won't be enough

For 30 pip risk I will need to see a retest and if I don't get it
I will take my business elsewhere :)

I recently needed a new key cut, like a Yale front door key,
cost is usually about 5zl about a pound.

I went to the mall and straight away the same old thing -
' English? 10zl please'

This happened three times and three times I told them where
they might consider inserting their key, I can afford 10zl but
it was a matter of principle, have I got 'mug' written on my
forehead or something.

Eventually a Polish friend bought me a key for 4zl.

But when it comes to trading and the cost seems prohibitive
do I frugally shop around for a better deal on the other currencies
or wait until the trade is more viable on that currency?

or do I indeed have 'mug' written on my forehead?

How many times have I paid too much for a trade?

despite knowing I was paying too much but went ahead
anyway!

Thats why we have AIMS box and don't just use fractals.

AIMS box quickly identifies the value trades.

but even if we are not waiting for AIMS box break are
we still waiting for the value trades where reward is likely
to far exceed the risk?

I need to continually remind myself. I'm not focused on
winning any specific trade because I don't know which will win
or which will lose

but being focused on 'Value trades' only it doesn't really matter
as I will definitely win in the long term.

I was stopped for 38

Ok we're well clear of resistance and a Seed has formed
giving us the value trade with just 16 pip SL

There is no resistance to gauge potential reward but
the Daily indicates a possibility it could run on a bit.

It didn't! failed Seed never germinated, out for -16

October trades

October 14th
Went in again with quite a nice looking setup
A seed on H4 and no less than five IBs on H1!

But I went in before reading Immy's new thread
and the first rule is new peak of AO after cross
on HTF and as you can see we are way past that!

so I will close even though it will likely continue up
because I don't want to be so diametrically opposite
to a strategy that has been so well thought out

so thanks to Immy, Grant, Kyle. Moty and anyone else
who has been involved in revamping AIMS

It was already good! These are exciting times!

15th October
new peak of AO, retraced, Momentum Seed.
