US Session. The markets were waiting for news and price was just moving sideways most of the session and our new strategy looked after us by keeping us out of trouble. ( which reminded me of my comments a few days ago about hiding in the grass waiting to strike ) Then price broke out and gave a nice cherry which went well to start with then price reversed and I think I had some slippage and just took me out at break even

But that very same candle that tagged my break even line produced another cherry signal and I took it and take profit was achieved for another profitable day.

Not a bad result for a difficult day

London open had a long and steady climb up. Had a couple of pending orders in on 10:30 seed and 10:40 cherry but cancelled due to either price breach or price close below signal candle so didn't get entered into those.

Set a pending for the 10:52 cherry but cancelled due to price breach set Auto for 10:53 cherry but price burst up quickly and for some reason didn't get entered in the trade, but hey, no problem if GKFX cant handle my account lol (rofl) I will wait another day.

No more pendings set for this session.

There was no trading for me in the US session today due to work pressure. I don't think I will be trading now this side of holidays due to markets being more unpredictable its best to keep profits in the bag for the year.

I will update my DS score and profits in next couple of days for December. I don't know them off hand but I do have it written down at the office so as soon as I get them I will log them here. I know the results are positive though.

Have a great day ;)

So another year is almost complete and my life and trading has improved another notch and I am nearer to achieving my dreams and goals.

At the beginning of the year I decided to use the secrete as a means of finding a better way to trade. Anyone who knows about the secret will know what I am speaking of. Now it has taken a little bit of time but finally the secret handed me the gift I was asking for and that being Aims.

After finding Aims I was determined to master the ways of Aims and quickly realised that discipline was actually the strongest tool in trading and not entry and exits on their own.

Now discipline was something I was very used to, being raised in a violent childhood, businesses to run and 15 years of Martial Arts so actually once I knew how to be disciplined found it very easy to maintain.

I love trading The Hunt and just like history has taught us, we humans hunt better in packs and the Aims pack is the skype room and we are like a pride of Lions working together to capture our prey.

I would now like to thank everyone at Aims from the owners to every member and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

My Results for December are as Follows

6 Wins at 2% Profit
2 win at 1% Profit (Risk reduced because of nearing holiday Period)
5 Losses at 1%
4 BE at 0%

9% profit overall

DS Score 16 from possible 17

Have a wonderful holiday period and I will see you all in January :) (party) (*) (hug)

John,

I wanted to take this opportunity to Thank You again for taking the effort to post your trades so that the rest of us newbies to AIMS can see that with DISCIPLINE the AIMS methods can be profitable. It has been interesting to see your progress evolve through the Dots, Fruit, Seeds and now the Hunt which unfortunately a lot of us are not privy to. Have you kept any records on which method is the most profitable? How many of the wins came from the various methods you have tried? Or are you just getting better results because of your improved discipline?

I would also like to wish you and yours across the Pond a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hello Ed

Nice to hear from you again. I have some way to go yet before I am as competent as traders like Immy and Grant but each week I am getting closer with their help.

I am sure Immy will step in and correct me if I am wrong, and please do Immy. but If I was to give you advice. I would say the first thing you need to do is forget and let go of almost everything you have learnt about trading before you came to Aims.

If I was to recommend a strategy to start you off and master, it would be The SetUp 1 don't worry about setup 2 add on as yet.

Learn to love it and master it. Trust me there is a lot of money to be made from this strategy.

Setup 1 has lasted the test of time and still works now and my guess is that it will always work because it is inline with the market structure. Setup 1 is a science (Fractol physics ).If I was to put it in a nutshell Bill Williams has spent many months testing fractals with expensive science computers and came up with positive results.

If I was to recommend a Journal to read on setup 1 it would be Sam's Journal. I learnt a lot from Sam and would like to thank Sam for recording it.

When you read Sam's journal and look at his pictures take note of how big or small the boxes were on his successful trades., how far was purple line away from the Aims boxes. What general angle was the gators in when his best trades were made etc.

I am not sure if Immy would agree with me and I stand to be corrected but if you find it hard to exercise discipline with your exits using the gators as in the rules. then use a 1:2 risk reward as it gives you less room to bend the rules.

Just concentrate on mastering one strategy then you will not get stressed. An example of this with me was last week. I tried to be cleaver and have a demo account running along side my real live account. My live account is for serious trading of The Hunt my demo was to take all signals that The Hunt gave so I could compare results. Well I got confused and stressed and learnt my lesson.

You wrote above " Am I getting better results because of my improved discipline" My answer is ABSOLUTLY yes. In fact discipline is so important that if you break your discipline you have broken your edge. The edge you have is so fine and delicate that it is easily destroyed by a mad second of being undisciplined . It is so important that as recommended by Immy, next year my success will be measured by the results of the T20 DS score and not how many pips or % I have added or lost to my account.

My recommended steps to take for you now would be first

Stop trading

Re read The Setup

Make a trading plan for 2016

Start a Journal.

Do not make any trades until at least January 5th

By starting a journal you will improve as a trader, because you will be able to look back and see why some trades worked and others didn't and you will see your self evolving as a trader.
Other traders can make constructive comments and give you sound advice, they may notice something about your trade that you didn't that could have saved you a loss so you can look out for it next time and all sorts of other advice.

Hope this was of any help to you, as I said earlier I am no expert and stand to be corrected of anything I have written here.

Have a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2016.

John,

Once again I am in your debt. Thanks for taking the time for such a detailed reply to my questions! I will go over your suggestions and apply them to my Journal for Learning How To Trade.

I think the genius of what Immy has created here is the feedback and examples provided us by our fellow newbies. Reflecting on my teaching career, I can say that some of my best teaching moments happened when the students in my classes taught each other! Sometimes it is hard for the teacher to know what the student doesn't know. That is where fellow students can relate to each other the most. Enough with the philosophizing.

Thank you again. I look forward to reading more about your trades in your journal next year.

Hi Ed

Nice to hear from you again. I've not been able to trade since before Christmas. I run three businesses so from time to time I am unable to trade because of work demands. I had a good run leading up to Christmas due to it being a slow time of year for me.

I am ok with it because I only see trading as a hobby so totally stress free for me and I fit it in when ever life allows me.

How is your trading going ? have you managed to find your way yet ?

Kind Regards
John
