Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day
Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime
This way of trading and learning how to make gains from a clearly laid out strategy are priceless !
I went to school with a guy who got listed by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people on earth, for his contribution to progress.
Bill and Immy ought to get up there somehow too!
My only claim to fame was a wedding present from a former Prime Minister lol

Did the PM give you a fishing rod?
It looks like you cast and cast and got stuck in the mud, then the seaweed and THEN you land a big one! Great Perseverance! You are showing me to hang in there and see how the 20 Trades work out.
I am not as optimistic that the currencies I am trading will result is such big moves but I will keep on trying.

No actually it was a cutlery set to cut them up and eat hehe
But talking of fishing, is this how it is done? I have never tried.
I think if I were you I'd be less interested in currencies, I'd be looking at the S&P and Wall Street like Immy suggests, the Russell might be a bit tetchy, but this system is made for that sort of thing!!!!!

Re: Ray's amnesty page
I missed a lot of my chances today, by staying in a little too long to some trades, but fortunately this example of late afternoon was one which I had a bigger exposure to and which enabled me to end the day 6.4% up in spite of 5 consecutive rents at one stage.
It has been a fantastic week for trading 4 1/2 days screen time, giving me over 22%, the average return for every trade winning and losing was 0.33%, PF 1.7, from 217 pips all on Dax.
What makes me feel good is to face each day knowing the strategy works and that if I go through a bad patch it will usually refund me before I give up. A bit much to expect to win every day, but the market has been kind to me lately.

Re: Ray's amnesty page
I can't say today was easy for me as no real lucrative trend presented itself, so I guess I did 2 dozen trades, but eventually closed out with over 8% profit, which makes it my 3rd best day this month. At one stage it could have been the 3rd worst day, but anyway I believe in the system and just carried on doing what I usually do and it came right in the end.

by my calculations you've turned 1K into 500K by now... am I right?

Re: Ray's amnesty page
Hi Immy
You know how much I would like an EA to do what I do. It would save me a lot of screen time and would put me in more trades which I would otherwise miss, eg 1130GMT Dax, if I had bought I guess there's 45 pips in it already! (20 minutes later).
Your calcs about exponential growth are fairly accurate, but I take capital back out periodically.
January is going good, I don't know if I will attain 100% today but am only a couple per cent off, after just over 200 trades.
It's a matter of believing the system will continue to perform, and starting off each day with a winner's psyche. It does involve having to be happy to let a lot of trades close in loss, but the rewards for this and trying to hold on to trades which go well are phenomenal. I realise we understand a lot more about the structure of the market than the guys who just dabble about in this, and the knowledge involved takes years to amass.

Re: Ray's amnesty page
Short trade, entered manually once I was happy purple line was breached,
gave me a win which made the monthly total come to 99.9%. Nearly there on doubling the capital, this is day 18 trading
Discipline this month. I'd say 85% right.
Demeanour. About 90%, well it's immeasurable really, I'd say in spite of a few anxious moments at times I feel relaxed, the more I stick to the system, remembering what it has done for me in the past, the better I do.

Re: Ray's amnesty page
I was in this trade 1 3/4 hours, which went to 80 up at one stage but I got stopped out when it faded. Bet it will go up again now!
I had a few losers in between but that one recouperated all rents
26 pips today so far, 10 trades, of which only 4 were profitable. +2.3% ROC

Re: Ray's amnesty page
example of a bad trade where I took a short and got smashed, and a long trade which reimbursed me fourfold after reversing my position
Yet again I got out too early, anyway today was +3.2% so I am leaving now
