Adrian's journal

Unread post by mono »

OK this is my trading journal for everyone to see. A little scary for me, but I know it will help me on my journey to being a successful trader.

Please let me know your thoughts on my trading both good and bad as I am keen to learn and become the best I can be.

My first trade taken today

DAX M1 see below picture.

The trade is a setup 1, i saw a green dot around 11.57am according to the Brokers platform. The AO had crossed at 11.59am

My Snorm Trade Manager was missing off my charts so i manually entered the trade at 10036.8 which was 2pips above the new AIMs level after the market took a little correction. The stop loss i had at around 10027 and TP was at 10051(not sure why it wasnt 10056) but i think i might of panicked a little. Anyway it eventually hit my TP and then some more which i guess i missed out on.

DS Score 1 because i followed the entry rules

let me know what you think

Today's trade took a little while because the market was a bit slow but it ended ok.
I had to end it a little prematurely with only 12pips profit as i am on my way to bed now

Todays trade is as follows;

Trade: Long EUR/USD at 1.1366 (12.19pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 2 by the time my order was taken, not sure how to classify a Setup 1 or Setup 2. Is it when the trade is taken or when I indentify a trade?

Exit: My Tp was 20 pips but i cut it short at 12pips

Comments: Feeling good about the trade but it was hard to be patient and wait for it to happen. Ill have to work on being more patient.

DS Score: 1

Hi Adrian,

Congratulations on starting your journal, its a one giant leap towards success. Consistency is the name of the game. Most traders don't keep a journal and some do, some start their journal but struggle to keep it up and running. The ones who engage and update in their journal often see better results.

You can use the Image

Thanks for the advice above Immy. I had a few days of no trades because Friday was very choppy and hard to get in. Monday i had a lot of work to do so i didnt get to trade.

Today being Tuesday i did place a trade and followed the rules yet it hit my stop loss. I was still trying to work out what happened when the market went past my stop loss and kept going. what i didnt realise was that it was a trade in the other direction but it was too fast for me.

Todays trade is as follows;

Trade: Long DAX at 9569.5 (12.54pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 1

Exit: My SL was 15 pips
Comments: still Feeling good about the trade but i was pissed off when i missed the trade, ah well...next!

DS Score: 1, i followed the rules

Feeling relatively relaxed with the trading method and I am trusting that it will work 60% of the time and the MM will take care of the profits.

I did get out of the trade earlier than i would of hoped because the trade started to go the other way and lucky i did because it kept going up

Todays trade is as follows;

Trade: Short DAX at 9595.3 (13.56pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 1

Exit: 9550.9 at 14.44pm when the price pierced the green line
Comments: ok trade but trading in the middle of the LO & NY sessions when it was fairly quite

DS Score: 1, i followed the rules

Hi

I don't see the trade on your chart, try drag and drop from history to get the trade arrows.
plus you did not mention what exit strategy you applied here

cheer

Today's trade was over pretty quick as I was trying out a way of exiting that i heard Immy talk about in one of the videos. I think he said Grant exits at the close of the previous candle, so i tried that and i missed out on 5 pips from my normal method of exiting at the cross of the green, red or blue lines or blue or green dot.

Todays trade is as follows;

Trade: Long DAX at 9724.3 (13.38pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 1

Exit: My exit was the close of the previous candle and exiting with 12 pips profit.
Comments: i missed out on some big moves in the london session

DS Score: 1, i followed the rules

My second trade for the day looked like it was going to go my way but it tanked instead. oh well... I realise i forgot to move the SL up and i could made an even smaller loss. Also i had a headache and was feeling a little tired so probably shouldnt of traded.

Second trade today is as follows;

Trade: Long DAX at 9734 (15.08pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 1

Exit: My exit was 9725.6 (9pips predetermined SL)
Comments:

DS Score: 1, i followed the rules of setup 1

I am still finding trades a few hours after the London open and before the New York open but they are not moving as quick as the opens. Nonetheless they move a little. I trialled stop loss at the close of the last candle and i missed out on 15 more pips if i kept with my other method of exiting at the cross of the gator lines.

Trade: Sell EUR/USD at 1.14042 (15.07pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 1

Exit: My exit was 1.1399 (5 pips - i moved the SL to the close of the last candle and)
Comments:

DS Score: 1, i followed the rules of setup 1. Exit was different because i tried another method, not sure if this means I should should not score 1.

Image

Second trade for the day went back to the original exit plan after the last trade.

Trade: Buy DAX at 9711.6 (15.35pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 1

Exit: My exit was 9717.9(6 pips - SL at cross of green line)
Comments:I felt more comfortable with this exit strategy and i think i will continue doing this even though it was a similar result

DS Score: 1, i followed the rules of setup 1.

I am starting to realise that i really need to wait for the New York open because by the time I am able to trade London open is over 2 hours gone. The market is moving pretty slow with trades only making small profits before my exit is triggered.

Todays first trade is as follows;

Trade: Short EUR/USD at 1.13118(12.57pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 1

Exit: 1.13073 when price pierced green line
Comments: seem to be following the rules ok and feeling confident in the method and the rules.

DS Score: 1, i followed the rules

Image

Todays Second trade is as follows;

Trade: Short DAX at 9986.20 (13.03pm Brokers time)
Trade Setup: Setup 1

Exit: 9980.8 price pierced the alligator lines
Comments: trade looked ok with sleeping alligator lines, AO crossed and 5 times timeframe was trending up.

DS Score: 1, i followed the rules
