Jason's Journal Entries
Hello everyone!
This is Jason, I've been a member of the AIMS community since September 2012 and have tried to trade the set up on and off without much success due to my lack of discipline. It wasn't until recently when I revisited the forum where I found so many more strategies that re-ignited my motivation to trade. Living in New Jersey and working full time I am not in a time zone friendly area to regularly trade the London and New York Open sessions. As a result, I have committed to trading ONLY the Fruit Strategy on the 4Hr timeframe in a demo account for the first 20 trades. The currency pairs I will be focused on are: EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD, NZDUSD, and USDJPY.
I entered my first two trades shown below on 4/19/2016 based on the Fruit Strategy rules and set a take profit of 5 times the risk. Will be doing add-ons as they present themselves and exiting according to the guidelines. Both trades are currently working out well. I welcome all comments / feedback / advice. Thanks in advance!

Re: Jason's Journal Entries
Hi Jason,
Welcome. I think you joined about 2 weeks after I did. I was born in NJ but ended up about as far away as you can get in Medford, Oregon. A lot of my Mother's family still live in Jersey.
How are the trades going? I will watch your progress with interest.
I suggest you take a look at Ray's (wiseambitions) journal as he has done an extensive statistical evaluation of his trades. Although he can trade the DAX his results are interesting. At one point he had 12 losses in a row and still ended up the month with a 30 per cent gain!

Re: Jason's Journal Entries
Hi Jason
welcome back and congratulations on starting your journal. You have made a very good decision to limit your trading to only a few pairs and chosen H4 Fruit strategy. This is the best strategy I've ever traded and it will make you happy, very happy.
cheers

Re: Jason's Journal Entries
Hi Ed, thanks for your reply. I just started going through the 20 trade exercise on the 4HR timeframe. It's good to meeting some from NJ! Hope all is well in Medford, Oregon. I will definitely check out Ray's journal and try to learn and apply to my chosen style. How is your trading going and do you also have a journal?
Immy - thanks for welcoming me back. Feels great to really start taking action. I have been system hoping for a while and the mostly been using only price action with no indicators and relying Support / Resistance on the daily charts. Somehow I was not able to get that to work and not only did I have losing trades, but I also lost all my trading funds at SmartTradeFx when they closed shop and wouldn't respond to my withdrawal requests... That really just left me crushed... I am so grateful to be a part of this evolving community. So many years later and this whole group has never stopped elevating to greatness! It's very motivating to see so I want to start all over again and join in on everyone's success. Immy, please keep doing what you do - you are the best! Do you know of anyone else's journal I can follow that would help me improve using my chosen style of trading?
Now a recap of my first two trades:
1) GBPUSD trade ended with 2 losses. Had a chance for an add-on which I took and the trade as in profit for a while, but both positions resulted in being stopped out, so about a -2.5% loss. (perhaps I was too aggressive with setting a 1:5, risk to reward and should scale back?)
2) NZDUSD trade, closed around a +2% profit (ended up changing my take profit after the GBPUSD trade was stopped out). No opportunities to add on as no lower fractal was formed. Should have let this trade run more and try to not be influenced by the GBPUSD.
Currently just opened another trade shorting the USDJPY with the following reasons in mind: 1) A good expanding Angle; 2) Divergence seen on AO

Re: Jason's Journal Entries
Hi, hope everyone's week is off to a good start. Just wanted to provide an update to my progress so far. The USDJPY trade + 1 addon has worked out in my favor. Although I would have gotten a lot more profit if I did not set a 1:2 risk to reward take profit level and just let things run. Been trying to get stronger mentally over time. I do notice trading the 4Hr time frame that I miss some good signals from time to time. I may need to move over to the daily time frame and trade more pairs. Is there anyone currently doing that right now? After I make the switch to the daily's I will restart the 20 trade exercise.
I am currently in a NZDUSD buy trade with 1 add-on that is going quite well. Decided to enter this trade late last week due to price over extension. I do have some questions regarding what most up to date indicators I should be using. Currently my template is:
1) Aims Box v5.1
2) Aims The Fruit v2.5 (should I be using Aims the Fruit v4.0?? what's the pros and cons of using each)
3) Aims Gator v5.1
4) Aims Waves v5.1
5) Aims the Fruit Bars v1.1
Also for daily charts does the broker closing time matter? For optimal results should I have a broker with NY closing time? I would think it would produce different signals for daily and 4hrs right? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Re: Jason's Journal Entries
Hey Immy, thanks! One other thing. If I wanted to also add the seeds onto my current fruit chart, which indicator(s) would I need to make that happen? I've seen some pictures of charts from other members that had it and wish to also have the same so I can use seed add-ons as well. Thanks in advance.

Re: Jason's Journal Entries
Jason, trust me on this, its not easy to handle fruit entries and add ons. Don't add seed as an add on. Seed is a full fledge strategy of its own. Plus we have refind seed and added cherry to this drama but we have found better filters which makes the job easier and more objective, so these seeds are raw seeds but the one we munch on are Roasted and Salted often with different flavours and we call that The Hunt strategy...
cheers

Re: Jason's Journal Entries
I have restarted my journey and going through all the lessons in order (so far on lesson 2.3). I realize back a few years ago I started with the fruit strategy which was way too advanced for me at the time and I hadn't put in the work to go through all 3 phases.
