ForexTester 3 (http://www.forextester.com/) is out. Anyone tried it? Any comments?
Based on the email they sent, some comments:
- Currencies, silver and gold included, no indices. So, you have to add dax manually as earlier. At least that's my understanding.
- Basic functionality is the same, I didn't spot any major advantages/disadvantages.
Email they sent:
Hello Tomi,
You have received this email because you are the owner of a Forex Tester 2 license.
We have exciting news for you! We have now released Forex Tester 3!
What is new in Forex Tester 3?
Forex Tester 3 is the next step in the evolution of Forex backtesting software. It will make your backtesting experience better and your backtesting results more precise.
Compared with Forex Tester 2, there are many new features, which improve the usability of the program, speed of testing, accuracy of results, and the overall experience you have with Forex Tester.
Here are just a few of the features:
One aggregate mode instead of two (no "History" and "Testing" modes anymore)
Automated ticks generation
All settings are established in projects
Ability to download any number of symbols at a time
The downloading process of each symbol is now much faster
Locate a chart on its individual monitor
Renko bars, etc.
You can download and try this brand-new version here:
The regular price of the upgrade from your Forex Tester 2 to the new Forex Tester 3 is $99. However, during the first 2 weeks after the release, we are offering it with a 30% discount, making it only $69.
As usual, you do not risk anything by buying our products. In fact, we are so confident that you will love the new version that we offer an unconditional refund period of 60 days.
Premium data
If you test short- or middle-term strategies and want to increase the accuracy of your backtesting, then we recommend subscribing to a premium Forex historical data feed. You can get tick-by-tick or precise M1 data to simulate real-time market movements in your backtesting.
Types of premium data
To the traders who prefer backtesting their strategies on timeframes from M1 through M30, it is highly recommended to make use of the tick data with floating spread from 10 brokers (VIP Data Service) in order to get the most accurate testing results
For those traders who trade on H1 and higher timeframes it is sufficient to use the quality 1-minute data from 10 brokers (Standard Data Service).
Save by getting two valuable products
During the current after-release promotion, we offer great discounts for buying upgrades and data service in bundles. Some bundles even allow you to pay only for the data service and get the upgrade completely free of charge. That's a steal! Please check out the special bundles here:
P.S. Hurry up! The offer expires on October 3.
Kind regards,
Helga

Re: ForexTester 3
I'm attracted towards it for 2 reasons
1. Data and testing . those two modes, shitty coding, are gone now. thank goodness
2. this one is more important. Drag and rag PO's and SL's ... this will make it more real for me.

Re: ForexTester 3
1. That really is weird feature in FT2. Not that bad though and I can live with it.
2. You can use pipette tool in FT2. Usability is not as good as in metatrader but in few clicks you can do similar dragging. This also is ok for me.
I'll go with FT2 for the moment. At least all the components coded right now are working. What about FT3, are old strategy/indicator dll's working?
