this method does not rely on add ons. it relies on Rifle type accuracy. because this gives you over 60% win rate. Actually you can maintain a 90% success rate if you KNOW what you're doing...

If I get you right, one entry would suffice? No more Add-Ons, instead close half of the trade at 1 R and let the other half run untill stopped out (by Box trail, close on Green Line or what ever)?immy wrote:this method does not rely on add ons. it relies on Rifle type accuracy. because this gives you over 60% win rate. Re: Thomas's journal [trading The Hunt on H1]
It appears that you are applying hunt but have not read the hunt Stage 1 Trade management. Its simple I'll write it out here
Risk 1R (range of the signal bar)
Move SL to Be at +1R (equal to Risk SL)
TP at 2R.
You can go for 3R and move SL to BE at 1.5R if you like.
or you can choose to Close Half at 1R and Leave SL at original spot and TP at 5R. This will give your trade room , help you be in FREE Trade Risk FREE state of mind. And catch bigger winners. Meanwhile you can also activate box trail.
Chose one and STICK TO IT for at least 5 batches of T20.

Re: Thomas's journal [trading The Hunt on H1]
Hi Thomas. Great trading!
I am just trying to figure out your risk management and you seem to be taking half the trade off at 1:1 and then using the box trail for the other half. When working out the profit you state that the first half in the last example on EU made 1.13R. I thought that should be 0.57R as it is only half a position? Unless of course a rent would be -2R in which case I am not confused at all!

Regarding my risk management: I'm applying "campaigns".
Each campaign consists of two positions, which have the same SL- and entry-, but different TP-levels (the first at 1:1, the second at 5:1).
They both have the same Lot size and are (usually) managed via Box trail immediately.
If the first hit its TP, I'm at least at BE for this campaign.
Regarding your question about how I calculate the "Rs":
if I risk 20 Pips for each position (so 40 overall for that campaign), I will, for example, earn 20 Pips, if the first position hits its TP.
For this position, "R" (reward / risk) is 1.
If the second position turns around and ends at its SL, I lose 20 Pips.
For this position, "R" is -1.
So, the campaign itself is 0 R overall.
If both positions end at their SL, the campaign would be -2 R.
It both positiond end at their TP, the campaign would be 6 R.
I hope, my explanation makes halfway sense, at least

Re: Thomas's journal [trading The Hunt on H1]
Trade campaign 3/1
Summary
Summary
- Pair: NZD/USD
Entry: Setup 1
Risk: 48.7 P + 48.7 P = 97.4 P
Exit: Box trail/Box trail
Result: -22.5 P - 22.7 P = 45.2 P, 0.46 R - 0.47 R = - 0.93 R
DS: 1 [2/3]
- Pre-trade remarks:
- H1, VL (1): Setup 1 into Wave 5 down
- H1, HL (1): Looking to enter at brake of this level. If it gets broken, there are no more levels to the left and Wave 5 is confirmed, too.
- H1, HL (2): Lower AIMS-Level of W1.
- H1, HL (3): TZ1(a)
- H1, HL (4): TZ1
- [H1, HL(2)] is close to expected entry Price, but, as TZ1 [H1, HL (4)] is far away, I'm going to take the risk of a possible retrace.
- H4, VL (1): Price within a Wave 3 down.
- Post-trade remarks:
- Lower AIMS-Level of W1 [H1, HL (2)] got hit and Price bounced there off right away.
