Topher's Journal

Unread post by Topher »

Well here it is my first trade with Aims and unfortunately I paid rent.

In hindsight I should have exited when the price stalled and went sideways, however, I waited for the red dot before exiting.

Topher, congrats on starting your journal.

Entry was perfect. Tight gators, AO close to ZL, trading away from purple.
Hindsight says yes, get out on the high of that green candle at 10:24.

A couple of things that you could have done to protect yourself. When AIMS level formed off the 10:24 candle, that could have been a good time to go to Break Even. When the lower high AIMS level formed off the 10:28 candle, then at that time you might have been thinking to exit or at least then have gone to BE.

MM is the key to taking advantage of moves and also keeping our losses small.

Thanks for your feedback Rhinomann it is much appreciated.

I haven't traded today as I only had the first hour after London opens before I had to go to work and I saw no trades worth taking.

Another day of no trades.

I sat at my pc at 7am until 8:10am and missed a trade at 7:39.

Off to work now. I will be interested to read the journals this evening to see how everyone else did.

Good luck

This was my first full day that I have been able to sit at the computer and trade this system (7am - 5pm UK time).

I tried to take a trade this morning but the price shot up that fast that my PO was not accepted, however I managed to get a +3 later in the day so I am pleased with a positive outcome.

I found that I learnt a lot about the system today as I was able to look at the journals and questions/answers as they came in and relate them to the chart and setups I was looking at. So thanks to everyone who post their journals they are a great source of information.

Hi Topher

Congratulations on getting a positive result from today, a lot movement but not many setups today. I took the same trade you did but got out at b/e, what exit method were you using?

Cheers

Thanks Mike

I initially targetted an exit of 1.28100 but was rather hoping for more, however, when the price hit this level it seemed to hover for a while (it probably didn't but it seemed to) so I decided to get out and at the same time the price moved against me quite quickly which is why my exit is 2 pips or so above.

With all the movement that was going on today I thought everyone would be getting trades that I wasn't seeing. It is good to see that we are all taking roughly the same trades. I realise the objective is to make money, however, at this early stage I am more pleased that I am getting into the same trades as others.

Thanks again
Richard
