Clint's Journal - T20 - H1

Unread post by seonard »

Hi All,

It is a pleasure to be a member of AIMS. I joined a month back and now finally I managed to start my journal. Thanks to Immy, Pedro, Steve and TJ for correcting and guiding me on my very first week.

I am from Copenhagen and I prefer to trade the NY session. I need to figure out to trade the London session though (normally bit hectic schedule at work during this session) and I am working on it 8-|

Stage 1 Setup 1- T20 Batch 01 - Trade Number 01

Trading details –

Timeframe – H1
Currency Pair – GBPUSD
Session and Date – NY, 28th July

Reason for taking the trade –
• Alligator sleeping
• AO near ZL
• Acceptable AIMS Box size

GBPUSD - H1
T20 - Trade01 - H1 - Entry - Crop.jpg
GBPUSD - H4
The alligator was not sleeping on H4. It was on Wave 5 in the same direction on which I placed the pending order in H1.
T20 - Trade01 - H4 - Entry - Crop.jpg
Moved the SL to BE
T20 - Trade01 - H1 - BE - Crop.jpg

I took my exit upon touch of TZ1
Risk: 31
Result: 54

Looking for your feedback and suggestion on this trade.

Clint

Hello

well you probably know already and I must have written it to nearly all the guys who start their journals that keeping a journal may just be the very thing that keeps successful traders consistently remain profitable over a longer period of time. It helps you reflect over what you've done and paves the pathway towards where you want to be from where you are now... so well done and keep going ..

You asked for suggestions and feedback. That's a very good sign... we are here to learn and share and learn and share ...

You know what? you've nailed it to the T...

it might sound too simple but its the FACT. All you have to do now is REPEAT ... just keep doing the same thing over and over....

thats it ... nice trade...

Hey Clint

I think the box size on GU was big. We don't look at pips alone, we loo kat hte picture as well. infact for me its more visual. The box, visually was bigger. And i saw 1-5... these ones work too but the ones with higher probability are the ones that go straight into wave 5. with a clean 3 and 4 and a tight box.

cheers..

ps: its best to make a post per trade.

Thanks Sam.

Yes, I have a detailed trading plan and thanks for providing your valuable feedback on the trade.

Actually I was hesitant while taking the trade. To me it didn't appear a 50% retrace for W4 and so I went for it. Honestly, I took the trade mainly to learn and I learnt :) - As you and Immy said, I should have waited for a clear W3 and W4 and a tight box.

Thanks again and will look for your suggestions and guidance going forward.

looks great so far, on the second trade you have to be wary that previous peak was too close so its a risky trade, it might bounce back down, also your moving sl to be too fast it seems and adjusting sl more than once, for discipline purposes we usually only move sl to be at 1R and then let it go either 2R or BE or -R . moving sl too soon might save you a bit but its alot more trouble, takes more chart time and also will cut your 2r winners, keep it simple during the first stage of training and dont keep scanning and adjusting the trades. Set it up and let it go.
