Batch 3 Trade 5

Unread post by tragicallypip »

Pair: DAX30 M1
47490614 2018.07.16 11:45:36 sell 1.00 ger30 12545.05 12554.93 12527.09 2018.07.16 11:51:40 12555.15 0.00 0.00 0.00 -15.89
Entry Type: Setup 1
Exit: Hit original SL
Result: R1:R-1
Comments: Gator was closed and purple was in the correct position. AO was very close to ZL, so it looked like a completed W3 down with a sideways W4
Discipline Score: 1
optimistic

Entry Type: Setup 1
Exit: Hit original SL
Result: R1:R-1
Comments:M1 Gator was closed and purple was in the correct position, although a little far away from the AIMS Box. M5 Gator was open. AO came up to the ZL, and price retraced to nearly 50%. so it looked like a completed W3 down with a fairly sharp W4 up. It didn't have much momentum on the down trend and stayed at just below 1R for 20 bars before price rose and stopped me out.

Entry Type: Setup 1
Exit: Hit original SL
Result: R1:R-1
Comments:M1 Gator was closed and purple was in the correct position. M5 Gator was open. AO had a fresh cross of the ZL, and price retraced to nearly 61.8% of the down wave. Price had a large spike down to trigger my PO, and then immediately went up and stopped me out.
Discipline Score: 1
optimistic and maybe a little aggressive as I hadn't had a valid setup for 3 trading days. That being said, I would have still taken this trade.

Batch 3 Trade 8

47582253 2018.07.26 09:57:38 buy 2.00 ger30 12701.60 12695.37 12714.66 2018.07.26 10:00:23 12695.25 0.00 0.00 0.00 -20.05
Entry Type: Setup 1
Exit: Hit original SL
Result: R1:R-1
Comments: M1 Gator was sleeping just prior to LO. A setup was indicated, and I put a PO in. The price spiked down and hit my stop, and then proceeded to jump 10R at LO. One thing I learned was that my new broker's spreads were high, which triggered my PO sooner than anticipated. I should have also put my PO in higher, as the levels to the left were close.
Discipline Score: 0
optimistic.

Comments: M1 Gator was sleeping. A setup was indicated, and I put a PO in, taking into account levels to the left. The AO came close to the ZL. Price went up to over 1 to 1, and SL was moved to BE. Price retraced and hit SL.

Comments: M1 Gator was closed. Placed the PO, taking into account levels to the left. The AO crossed the ZL. Price moved down, but didn't hit the 1 to 1 mark to move to BE, as I had the larger SL. Price retraced and hit original SL. It looks like my broker has wide spreads until 1 minute before LO, so I won't be taking any more trades until 09.59 from now on.

Was this really a setup 1? Was the previous peak really showing as wave 3 followed by a 4 up?

1 Not a good quality setup 1 with a clear 3 and 4
2. Trade taken before LO that's where the volatility kicks in.

Thanks for the comments iMi. I hadn't taken many trades in the previous 3 weeks, so I was probably stretching the definition of a Setup 1. I was being a little impatient.
