Edward's Journal

Unread post by edwardko »

Dear fellow AIMSters

I have just started learning the Stress Free Trading this week. I have read the eBooks and watched the video yesterday and took some "toe-in-water" trades yesterday to get a feel of things.

Today, I have started my T20 journals. I am based in Melbourne and I had 2 sessions today:
1. 10am-11am local time trading AUS200 M5/M1 Setup1
2. 3pm-5pm local time (Tokyo session) trading EURUSD M5/M1 Setup1.

Whilst I did not have any winners today, I would appreciate if fellow AIMSters or Immy if you can spare your valuable time o have a look thru the journal and Entry/Exit Charts to see if I have correctly understood Setup1.

My overall feeling from today's trade is that catching Wave 5 is a bit of an art. In the trades that I took, the alligator seemed to open up in one direction (which is also the M5 direction) only to reverse and go back to sleep/reverse causing the M5 alligator to also close.

In any case, I look forward to your constructive comments.
Edward

Welcome to the world of journaling. this is the right step forward. you must keep it going and continue to post. that's the only way forward

meanwhile if you'd like to display your images, you need to go to your jing upload. (follow the link you've posted) and then follow the following instruction in this image (i used the same technique to post this very image)

there is an "image" icon above, you know the one with mountains and sun.

Edward's Journal B3T2 - Adjusting untriggered Pending Orders

Unread post by edwardko »

Dear Immy

Would appreciate your advice on a trade that I took today (GBPUSD M1/M5). Basically, I would like your advice:

1. In a Sell Pending Order, if after the PO has been setup, prices drift higher and a subsequent red dot is created wioth higher AIMS levels, do we adjust the untriggered PO to the new AIMS levels?
2. If we have a bracketed PO where the long trade has triggered nd the short is still pending, prices drift higher and a subsequent red dot is created with higher AIMS levels, do we adjust
a) the SL level to the higher AIMS level but leave the trigger price unchanged for a "matched" stop and reverse? OR
b) both the trigger price and SL to the new AIMS level where for a short period of time, we could have both the long and short orders running

DESCRIPTION

Image

Today (10/10/19) at 07:57 server time, a red dot was created on M1. Both M1 and M5 alligators were asleep. My ungrounded analysis was that M5 just saw the completion of Wave 3 and therefore I expected correction down to 38.2 (or even 50% maybe) in the to be developed wave 4 and that was why I drew the fibo levels in my M5 chart. However, I wasn't 100% convinced and therefore decided to bracket my trade.

At 08:17, prices move higher to trigger the long trade. For a while, it looked like wave 3 was not fully done and that it wanted to move higher. In doing so, at 08:55, another red dot with a higher and taller AIMS box was created. The marginally higher prices didn't hold and at 09:01, the long was stopped out and the short triggered. Prices rebounded and at 09:04 took out my short trade too, only then to fall away to test the 50% retracement level.

I had not adjusted my untriggered bracketed trade on the basis of "Plan your trde and trade yoru plan". However, with perfect hindsight, an adjustment to the new Red Dot AIMS level would have seen the short trade succeeded and paid well.

Hi Edward

I'm a bit busy with guest this week. I'll respond to it in more detail. Maybe a video. But let me point this out first. For questions like these, which I LOVE btw, you simply need to reply to your own Journal. I RE ADD ALL THE JOURNAL POSTS. 30,000 posts in this forum, I can proudly say i've read 95% of them. (i think 100% but saying 95% just in case i don't know that I don't know)

cheers

ps: i'll move this post and attach it to your journal. https://itradeaims.net/forum/viewtopic. ... 183#p32309
pps: I've moved the post and attached it to your journal

Hooray, I have finally finished my Trading Plan and put together a rudimentary EA to setup my Pending Orders and manage my trades. So it is time for me to publish my plan and reboot my T20 journals.

I found starting out difficult because I didn't quite understand the more intricate details of the S1 and of course, I keep missing out bits on the flowchart. Now with a better understanding, I am rebooting my T20 journals from 12 Nov 2019.

Here goes my trading plan. Journals to follow.

Hi

The forum was going through some issues in the past. We recently wiped the old database and refreshed the install etc. It seems to be working smoothly now. But I've noticed hundreds of unread posts have popped on my screen now.

So this is one of them. Apologies for that.

~I can see you have completed your trade plan, but am surprised there are no trades after the initiation? Or perhaps you're running a different jouranl right?
