B3T2 - NASDAQ BE Result DS1

Unread post by immy »

Analysis at the time of PO:
US100 NASDAQ QQQ Pending Buy Order
Signal Type : Number 3
Impulse Candles = 3
Pullback Candles = 3

Context: Wide Trading Range
A feel-good setup.

3 impulse candles
3 pullback/pause candles with signals
The pattern is correct. Context is Wide Trading Range Image
Analysis after Exit

B3T2
I actively monitored this trade during the open. Indices usually gyrate and then find direction. So I allowed some space for it. IT went very near BE level and I moved SL to BE and left the screen. BE exit. I'm fine with it.

Unread post by immy »

1. Trade Number: B3T1
2. Date/Time: 3 June 2022  12.00
3. Symbol/TF: DAX H1
4. Signal Type / Direction: Number 1 Sell

5. Questions Before Trade is Taken:

a) How do I feel before setting the order?

I have forgotten these.

b) Is this technically The Setup?
Yes. this was a TTPP

6. Question After The Trade has been closed:

a) How Do I feel after closing the trade (or end of the session for Day Traders)?

I felt pretty good about taking this trade. IT was going against 50ema but that's fine I thought. The impulse was pretty good. The trade the day before was also good but I missed it.

b) Have I done well and why?
Yes, I have followed the plan.

c) Have done badly and Why?

d) What Could I have done differently?

7. DS For this Trade: 1
8. DS Running Total: 3 /3

ps: I forgot to update this trade on Friday.
Tdoay I saw the seed but did not take it as  I was taking NASDAQ. Turns out this was a better setup. This is why Reducing your pair is better.

A Meh Trade Forgot ot update it here

Below Missed Trades

This was a nice signal but I committed to NASDAQ and ignored this one. NAS was BE this was 3R.  :o

USDJPY

I saw that the white trend candle , broke the level and it felt like it was going to continue. I know yens are all trending up. I knew h4 was up trend and D1 is up trend. I put a PO but was deleted as price went down. Then I did not get a signal. I was tempted to go long on the small doji but it was not a signal and I was in other trades.

In Light of This Study - here is the Amendment

Unread post by immy »

immy wrote: 03 Jun 2022, 21:00 I just had a rough backtest from March until May and I found this

EUR/USD 26 R
GBP/USD 24 R
USD/JPY 44R

Total: 94 R

So this is the BAR I have to use to measure my performance.

I used 50 ema filter On and 1R SL with 3R TP and Move to BE at 2R.  :nerd

sam: can you believe this? this is the potential of the market

how much did you gain and how much did I or anyone else? this is the game.

We have to measure our performance with the performance of the System. If we could achieve even half the results, we would be VERY happy people.

Good weekend everyone...

Ps: Further analysis and comparison to Indices.

NAS did only 11R (with lots of rents)  and US30 10R. and DAX is 12R.

You can see that we can only count this as a single number for these 3 due to their high correlation.
And the results are nearly the same.

If we take the average it comes to 11.

So even if you traded just one of these, your results will be the same in terms of probability and risk.

e.g. if you say the result of these three is not 3, instead of its 10+11+12=33 then you are saying that if you took 1% risk (while you risked 3% at the time) you would have made 33%. But if you did the same on USD/JPY and risked 3% per trade then you'd have made 44x3 = 132%

pps: DAX30 Jan until March is 17 R's.
GU 17R

Trading 3 Correlated Markets = Trading 1 Market

Yep, If you trade 3 markets that are highly correlated, like the Stock indices then you are essentially trading the SAME market. IF you riks 1% on each market at the same time, you're risking 3% on ONE MARKET.

Do Not Risk 1% on 3 Signals on 3 indices. Instead divide your risk. If I see signals on all 3 markets, I will either chose 1 and go 1% risk on that market. Or I'll choose 2 and go 0.5% risk on 2 of them. IF I want to take all three signals on US30, DAX and NAS then I'll risk 0.33% on each. or I'l go 0.5% on each and take total risk of 1.5%.

So, I actually trade 6 Markets on 8 Charts
Image

If Just 4 markets can give you nearly 100% (double your account) in 3 months then why do I need to watch 8 or more markets?

Hence I will watch EU GU UJ and DAX (Avoid US Spikes at the open, no need to worry about that) .

It was a feel-good trade. First I saw this as climactic. After hitting the gym and back I saw the 5 candle pattern and felt great about it.

7. Is this technically The Setup?
Yes, It is the TTTPP setup. TTTPP. It was obvious that there was some resistance but I did not care about it. The Signal looked lovely. Did not work

I feel pretty good about it. The setup was good. Just did not work. I will take setups like these over and over again. Though, the thought of "what if I filtered it based on the support/resistance levels to the left?" lingers. and it's valid but it's one of those... the ones I take, rents the ones I miss-hit 3R. I'm in that drawdown period.

GBP/USD

There is a signal and the pattern is a 5 candle pattern. 3 impulse and 2 pullback candles with signals.

Some resistance but the Setup is better so I'll take it.

Nice clean 3 candle impulse
2 candle pullback

Essentially THE Pattern we are after. Context though is not the greatest. 2022-06-06_12-59-23.jpg

GBP-USD:
Thx for the heads up on this one. It did have a nice impulse and pullback pattern.
I filtered it because of the levels. And my level history of last week.

Break and Retest DAX M1 US Session

Unread post by immy »

Love these types of setups ...

I'd have gone long before the breakout too. (that was a TTPP Pattern) Because I am long on DAX h1 using the TR method. Also on the NASDAQ but these are not part of my T20's. Just play the account.

Also Missed a Trade on GU H1/M5

GBPUSD Sell the TR Highs Idea... Looks aggressively bullish though that might be an issue. Just playing with it. 100 risk 1000 reward. could not be a bad bet. High probability of losing the trade but the risk-reward is big. Understanding this bit of statistics takes a while. There are trade setusp with low probability of success but they are not BAD setups because they provide a huge risk to reward ratio.

e.g. UJ creates those tiny seeds within trading ranges. When you take them, you will have a lot of losing trades but the ones that win will win you 20Rs. Very hard to do.

Risk %: Quarter: Due to late in the day and trend reversal. The Trade was a loser of course, that was more expected, as UJ was trending strong. And also, as my 12 year old when he was stood beside me, pointed out that the setup did not have a clean 2 trend candles. IT had wicks. He was right.

Oh well, I don't really know now, writing this on the 11 of June, what I was thinking.

Lesson: I have changed my templates so that I can be more conscious of trends and overall structure.

Trading while NOT in The ZONE

Unread post by immy »

Attached is the picture of a signal on the USDJPY H1 chart.

I Saw this today before my morning walk, I thought about setting a pending buy (limit) order but I don't do that for banana signals, I do it only for seeds.

Then I decided to not to do it. Now its hit 3R.

I am definitely what we call in Cricket, "out of form" or in trading," out of the zone". I know that I will get back in, hopefully soon.

When not in the zone,
  • I see things late,
  • I don't trust myself and my system, and
  • I hesitate and make mistakes.
