Banana + S1 journal // m5-m1

Unread post by Nikita »

Hello everyone.
Since i ve decided to try Banana way of trading, i m going to write down all my trades.
I m trading using IBKR, futures for SP500 (MES). So will be posting Tradingview screenshots.

Timeframe: m5/m1
Patterns: banana (1st and 2nd pullbacks/ after big move near gators lips) + setup 1.
Targets: banana - 3R, setup 1 - 2R or fibo 61.8

I decided to combine it due to both approaches use impulse wave (starting point).

Here is two trades i made today(marked with yellow circle):
1) it is unseen but during premarket was small consolidation, than it was impulse. Took 1st pullback. Rent
2) after strong bounce and consolidation price made a move up - took 2nd pullback. And rent again.

Despite the BIG down move there were no good (or may be valid) entries for me if look for Setup 1.
In the end of trading session one Setup 2 appeared, but the whole move so stretched... Unfortunately, this s2 could become nice 1:2.
However i wasnt hesitate while filtering it.

The thing i regret is missing banana enter in the beginning of the session, eventually was not at the screen.

Feelings after session - sad and FOMO. So big move and didnt have even a small piece.

Today again not so much to catch. (or may be it is correct to say - i didnt catch a lot).
Again, trades are marked with yellow circle.

1 banana entry - 1:2R winner. Closed it because it was a level there and market was crazy in the beginning.
2 banana entry - it was impulse move from sideways, wait for pull back. 1:1 -> SL to BE. Result BE.
3 banana reentry. This one was a hard descision but took it, cause it was only 2nd peak of price. Result: -1R.

With flag a pointed at good s2 entry, but i missed. Just didnt pay attention at AO. Eventually it d be a BE, cause 1:2 target never reached.

Would be glad to listen for you comments on these banana entries.

Today market was super calm (waiting for PPI tomorrow).
Unfortunately missed beautiful entry in the beginning of the session.

Then it was almost 2-3 hours of waiting... I begin to think that HUNT is more appropriate name for this method.
And finally breakout.
1 trade: -1R.
Took a second try as FAAMG was moving up.
2 trade: 2R. (not 3 cause we were next to todays high. As it was no volume - it d be not realistic to thin that we gonna break it).

I become to get use to trade banana, to really feel it, i need to catch 1:5 or may be 1:4 move.

With "?" i marked a moment of hesitation. Green candle was too big, so i didnt dare to take 1st pullback. And 2nd pullback i missed (was not at the screen, but i dont think i would give it a try).

sorry I don't have much time, I'm travelling... but in short, all of these trades, as per banana rules, are WRONG :nerd(for answers i recommend watching the course)

Thank you for your answer.
I d be glad, if you can give more details.

I watched course twice and without MT4 scripts i made these conclusions:
- wait for impulse (not climatic)
- wait for 1-3 candle pullback (new low/high important)
- try to catch the one that is close to 10 ema
- it must be a new peak/low
- look to the left (dont trade into levels).
As for inside bar - still a mystery for me. Dont understand where to look for it.

well in that case, make investment in yourself and buy the banana indicator... if I thought that we did not need this indicator, i will create a course saying, you don't need the banana indicator, instead use empty chart.s but its does not work for me so I can't tell others that it works for me. I NEEEEEED the banan indicator on my chart, it pays for itself.

you have a FLOW CHART to follow. The 7 rules are there, watch the course, and create your trade plan and follow the 7 rules. if you don't follow the 7 rules, you're not following the method.

TGIF.
But not for market. PPI kick down SPX on pre-market session, but during regular session it show nothing spectacular.
Pretty tight range, almost zero impulse moves.
Managed to catch setup 1. Result: 1R.
Closed it as it was fibo 61,8 + yesterday high + previous peak.
Possible could wait longer for 1,3-1,4R but decided not to play with low volume markets.
Now i can see - it was good idea.

Hello everyone.
My expectations for today - dead chop. tomorrow and the day after tomorrow super market catalists are coming.

I miss a nice S1 on MYM (dow jones). To be honest i watching nasdaq and dow all the time, but trade it not very often. And today my hesitation cost me a 1:2R nice winner.

On SPY it was quiet, then catch a setup 1, but as for DS - my exit  was zero. Price was moving soooooo slow, so when we reach a level to the left, i closed 1:1,3-1,5R.
Price after a while reached my goal, but according to my rule - it would be a BE.
