Re: Topher's Journal
Emotions just took control and I made a crazy entry. I did not think about it at all I just saw the blue dot, price rising and entered.
As soon as I realised what I had done I closed it down and all my MT4 platforms. Those are the signs of emotion and ruined accounts so that is me done for the day.

You know what, I had the same urge to enter there too. I was able to control it. Well done on realising your mistake and thank you for sharing. This is valuable stuff.

HerbertHerbert wrote:Awesome Richard! Question, for m1, what method do you use to be in time for a setup given that you monitor multiple currency pairs? Dot alerts? or some HTF /cyclic manual trend scanning? or other alternative?

Herbert
I watch EUR-USD and GBP-USD on M1, 8 pair on M5 and 10 pair on H1/H4. For me it is not possible to keep an eye on all of them at all times, so what I do is watch the M1 pairs, if there are setups presenting themselves on there I stick with them. If not I move up to M5 and watch them, I jot down any pairs that attract my attention and keep an eye on them. If something stands out like the UJ trade this morning then I tend to focus on that and blank everything else out. I look at H1/H4 when the new candles are formed.
The problem I have with this approach is demonstrated in the trade in my post above. I look on a different timeframe to see a move underway and have not planned my trade in any way and just enter. I like to see a setup occuring, watch it closely. Mark my SL,TP and PO levels. Draw trendlines etc. and then execute it.
I am reasonably happy with my trading. It is silly mistakes like this that I need to sort out.

Re: Topher's Journal
Here is my weekly summary.
Almost all pips came on Monday and Friday for me. In all I took 12 trades for +163pips which grew my account by +15.44%.
Because of my new approach to trading all my trades have been on M1 and M5. I now tend to focus on a pair that shows good promise of a setup and blank everything else out. So far it appears to be working just fine. This was not a concious decision, just something that has happened naturally.
I still feel this is all a dream and am having trouble dealing with the reality of it, however, it is not a bad problem to have. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hi Richard
You raised my interest levels to all time high. The M5/M1 is our Edge. Which and how many pairs are you trading and display simultaneously using m5/m1 techniuqe? thanks

I have been trading for many years and the Aims system seems to have been that valuable last piece of the jigsaw I have been searching for. I am in contact with others on here who are doing equally as well if not better.
Have a great weekend.

Re: Topher's Journal
Wow Richard!!!!
Firstly well done on your performance this week. That is absolutely outstanding.
Secondly, thanks for posting all that you have. Along with the others in these threads, you all fill me with confidence and positive expectancy. Possibly one month or so away and I will be treading into live trading with this wonderful method.
Keep up all the good work everyone :-bd

I replied to this earlier but it seems to have disappeared so here goes again.immy wrote:Hi Richard

I have EUR-USD and GBP-USD M1/M5 classic setup (4charts on the screen at once).
I have the following M5 pairs:
EUR-GBP
EUR-USD
EUR-JPY
GBP-USD
AUD-USD
USD-CAD
USD-CHF
USD-JPY
All M5 are 1chart on the screen at once.
I have 3 separate MT4 sessions running. 1.M1/M5, 2.M5, and 3.H1/H4. These three sessions are all logged into one Alpari account that way I only have to fund one account. I know I can use profiles, but to me they are cumbersome and having three MT4 sessions open means that you hear all the alerts from all pairs on all timeframes (sometimes gets confusing).
I don't use a laptop to trade from as I can't see enough information for my liking (age is creeping up and eyesight is deteriorating). I use a desktop pc with a single 27" monitor.
Hope this info is okay.
