Re: Mike's Journal MSK185
I thought I was trading a setup
1 Red dot alert (with arrow)
2 Alligator was asleep
3 A0 was close to zero and fresh cross
4 Aims box was within 15 pips at time of entry
Unfortunately it didnt work

Yep all criteria met, however, usually after extremly volatile moves like these, the market dries up. There is no more activity. No new information enters the market to move things around. "Nothing happens until something moves". But you're absolutely right, it just did not work. I have seen it move from there, yet I have also seen it reverse from there. Generally when I see explosive moves, I step away. If I had taken the entire drop with add on's I'd be too full to eat more, If I had missed the main meal, I'd say no to Deserts! Its discretionery I know, but some times it works other times, you just repent over it!msk185 wrote:I thought I was trading a setup

Hi all
Been a while since I posted in my journal, but thought I would share this trade I took a few minutes ago. I've found my self watching hte charts trying to determine what works for me, I'm liking Tomi's journal so big thank you to him for his postings i find them really useful.
Anyway to this trade, M5 and M15 were alligator open short, M1 setup with several DA's, also divergence on the AO and a lower high on the price action, entry was 1 pip below the aims level profit and sl set to 10 pips, so took a very quick 1%.
All I need do now is repeat repeat and repeat

Hi Mike, glad you like the journal but please remember that I'm a humble break-even-fellow and journal contains my thoughts unedited as those come

Re: Mike's Journal MSK185
Hi Everyone
Well nine months since I first started trading and after a summer that has been much disrupted I have decided to put new impetus into my trading from Monday.
So from Monday my new plan is that I will be trading 7.30am until 4.30pm with regular breaks to keep fresh timed to coincide with news releases or after significant moves.
I will only be trading EURUSD M1, following Grants rules with careful consideration given to the trends and price action on M5 M15 and H1.
Initially my stop will be set to 10 pips with a target of 10 pips. Stop will be moved behind the trigger candle once it is complete.
My Target in the first three months is to take only trades that meet my setup rules and all the trades that meet my setup rules.
All help to ensure that I do this will be much appreciated.
My challenge will be to replicate the excellent journal from Tomi by each day posting my analysis of each signal as well as my trades.
My belief is that if I adhere to my pan my account will make profit.
Thanks again for all the help on this forum

Re: Mike's Journal MSK185
Hi Mike, thank you for compliment about the journal. What I have found out is that writing things down will keep your mind focused and not starting to wander around - just a personal observation. Also when the setups occur there are lot of things to do rapidly and therefore I have number one priority to do the trading itself first and updating thoughts will happen after there are free time - those small seconds between the dots/alligator changes/AO updates/new AIMS levels
See you in the markets and have fun!
