Rules Flowchart - Grants Dimension
Evening everyone,
Having had a number of members in the skype chat over the last few weeks and having had the same questions from different people i have produced a flow chart of the rules as i have them and the questions i ask myself when a dot appears on my chart.
If you read through it you will see that i have a couple more questions/rules than the 3 from Imran that have to be met before i place a pending order.
It fits on A4 paper and i have it laminated and in front of me whenever i am trading to stop me cheating/bending the rules.
I hope this helps
Grant

Thank you very much
What is the Secret of Successful Trading?
The Consistent Pursuit of DS1
The thing that makes me money in trading is when I "Objectively Follow my Trading Plan".
I understand that I can't catch all the moves or all the signals but my objective is to catch THE VALID SIGNALS & ONLY the Valid Signals.
My Deathbed Advice "5:1 Reward to Risk Ratio".

Re: Rules Flowchart
Hi Grant
A question about your flowchart?
"Is dot completely inside AIMS?"
A simple binary question of course so needs obeying literally as it says?
Can I ask your reason/logic for that hard rule?
Thanks, Peter

with set up 1s we are trying to get our entries as close to the sleeping alligator as we possibly can as we are joining a new "trend", so we need to really enter on the 1st break of an AIMS level. hence when the alligator is asleep i like to see the dot within that AIMS level...
One of Imrans 3 rules is only enter on AIMs breaks. Dots only appear on candle closes, so rather than chase entries, if the AIMS is broken by the dot candle with a sleeping alligator, then i prefer to see the trend confirmed by a new AISM level, so a set up 2 entry...
I know there are more aggressive traders that take trades if a candle breaks an AIMS level but would not have triggered a PO at that level...
I guess its down to how aggressive you want to be with your entries....
as you know i like higher probablility ones, so fresh AIMS breaks is one factor in these.
Hope this helps

Re: Rules Flowchart
That's fair Grant.
Thanks again very much for sharing this very precise take on your cautious approach, while acknowledging that there is validity in others more aggressive approach as well.
