Re: Tom from Leeds's Journal
retest of the 60 low which may have acted as a nice bit of resistance, took the break of it with the immediate bias been short. missed tp by a micro pip - how annoying. another be. next.

Re: Tom from Leeds's Journal
I went long on cable this morning based on resistance becoming support on the 60 high and the bias been long. The nice tight aims box of 5 pips on this level sold it to me, 5min ao was close to zero line although 1min wasn't correct. I am using other factors combined with aims so therefore not all my trades will look textbook on an aims chart. I closed out manually after price didn't quite get my tp and ali looked extended. +0.95%.

Re: Tom from Leeds's Journal
no real support and resistance lines to play with during my chart time today. I noticed 15min chart was pretty extended and due a retrace so I went short on the 1min chart. Entry was below red line on m5, 2nd entry was below blue line on m5. I Braved it and added on to my position. I came out with 1.36% which im chuffed with. I exited manually on black dot and ao losing momentum after the move. Holding back my stop losses on this trade really paid off.

Re: Tom from Leeds's Journal
Hope everyone had a great xmas, unfortunatley my day job is in retail and I have been working. Had a few hours spare today for a bit of chart time, I am playing around with a trailing stop ea which was an xmas present from a trader I know (cheers humpha) I'm mainly using it on 5 and 15min charts but gave it a go on the 1min charts today.. possibly need to play around with the 1min settings to allow some breathing room before the trade gets going. See below:

Re: Tom from Leeds's Journal
Cheers immy, under normal trade management I would have hit 2% tgt. But it is what it is
I am happy with a good entry method now combining htf price action and aims 1min. I feel it is my edge (it at least keeps me disciplined), my entries are getting better and ratio of wins:losses is improving. I need to become the bricklayer now.. bring on 2013.

Re: Tom from Leeds's Journal
Happy New Year everyone and all the best.
Okay so my 'real' journey on becoming a forex trader started in feb 2012, I personally feel like i've come on leaps and bounds as a trader in these last 10 months. I now am starting to 'get it' and understand the markets, and think about the markets and what they're telling me. They go where they want and I get that now. Learning about support/resistance and price action and the combination of the two has somewhat changed my attitude to trading and the markets, and I feel much more confident now with my entries. I do use a price action strategy which isn't aims on time frames above m1. However I am still trading aims style on 1min, and the correlation between m1 aims and the price action stuff is very similar in terms of entries. 2013 I hope is going to be my pivital year in my trading career.
My main goals for the 2013 trading year are:
Trade at full 1% risk and accept my full 1% losers
1% growth per week on full account size (compounding)
Find a good exit strategy and determine wether im a 'gunner or a runner' - taking small consistant profits may be better for me to achieve my 1% weekly goal.
MAINTAIN MY DISCIPLINE DURING EVERY SESSION!!!

Re: Tom from Leeds's Journal
Trade 1 - unfortunatley was tagged at BE on cable this morning
Trade 2 - euro short late in the day. Price stalled at the bottom of the aims box for 3 mins. I manually closed for +0.2%.
I could have had more than 1% today by manually closing on aims ao or black dot etc. Food for thought.

Tom
I have to agree you have improved dramatically as a trader during the past year. You have the right attitude and focus towards your trading.
One word of advice if I may. Before you place a trade you need to know how you are entering and how you are exiting. Believe in what you are doing and stick to your plan.
