Re: Ray's amnesty page
Hi Ray, not exactly answers for your questions as I haven't faced such, but..... previously I used a non-ECN dealing desk broker and they had a rule that trades should be kept open over 3 minutes of time. Sometimes you can close the trade sooner but they are checking the strategy overall. If you keep getting lot of under 3 minutes long trades their deal room will get interested. Now I'm using ECN broker and they don't have such limitations. You can ask from their deal room if they have any specific rules. Just a thought.

ok these are trades that have run for a lot longer than 3 minutes
I've just put in another instant execution order and it wasnt filled.
Maybe there's a lack of liquidity this time of night (21:45GMT), or I'm costing the broker too much
I wish more people would come on here to share something on their journals

Re: Ray's amnesty page
Anyway it's the end of a brilliant day. 69.5 pips
All on EJ. Scary but worthwhile. I'd recommend the pair, it is trending nicely, but beware the volatility!
If you have some high risk 'fun' money it is possible to do great things with it. Like at least 5pc ROI a day. Otherwise the aims boxes can be quite high and the lot size needs scaling down to cope with the volatility if 1% risk is an important consideration

Re: Ray's amnesty page
Thanks Immy
Stopping for a rest after 80.5 pips since switching the machine on this morning.
I know there were many more for the taking but I just wasnt able to concentrate 100pc
Anyway, rather than put up more charts, the strategy I applied today is m5 on Euro-yen
First fractal break after DA so long as the DA isnt stale (say 4 or 5 more bars)
TP 15
SL 15 - but stretchable if the trend is the same in a higher TF
BE @ 10
---
Yes Dave, from Sidney! I think ten days like this would be enough to accelerate my retirement!
So the attitude to have about success is When not If.........

Re: Ray's amnesty page
Hi Ray,
sounds fantastic !
But a question : I do not have one single DA on EJ M5 today ??? Do you have any special options switched on ??
Or do you mean thise, or say 3 nice singel arrows ?
But anyway : great job done !

I was using DA v5.2 (noob) and saw a few coloured dots which I traded.
Also I will do 'add on trades' which is to say take new position if the price leaves the Aims box in direction of the trend, and usually get on ok for doing that. I know the ebook suggests a maximum number of these and that's wise, the first 2 or 3 jumping boxes are probably ok to trust, but if a trend starts to wear out it is not safe to keep doing add ons (at what point that is, I don't know!).
Anyway with EJ and patience to watch it, generally on m5, I seem able to take between 50 and 100 pips a day depending on my concentration, the available time, and the 'ADR' or whatever else you'd like to call the movement in the price in any session.
I still don't have the guts to take all the pips that are available. I bet there are 200 or more on a daily basis, and I tend to just get out when I reach about 15 in a trade, whereas some of the trending movements can easily be 80 pippers. Anyway I won't go broke if I am careful on this basis, and the % of winning trades seems to be excellent, given enough SL (I will often allow more than the height of the aims box, but depends on my assessment at that time).
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW. I just looked at the EJ graph for the couple hours to 15:40 and notice it moved about 220 pips down! (And it hasn't stopped moving yet either!). Glad to be the right side of it even if I only caught a few of the available pips!

Re: Ray's amnesty page
Hi guys
Hope you are having FUN and not getting chopped up in all what's going on today
I was wrong footed in a short trade on euro yen at lunch time and wondered whether to just cut it and be done with it.
Then, Praise the Lord, 1358GMT 150 pipper of a drop when I gather comments were made about the yen weakness, it redeemed my situation and gave me lovely 7.5% ROI. SEVEN POINT FIVE wow!
Now, seeing Mr Draghi's jaw is probably going up and down, I'm staying away until the dust settles.
I notice that the ewaves indicator has had difficulty labelling the waves, and I don't blame it because when stuff like this is going on Elliott still can't do much to help. Yes The market has a structure, and that is applicable the majority of the time, but when the unexpected comes along (like political speeches and big impact news etc) then the effect can be w5 the other way pretty sharp! And the moves are like 150 in less than a minute because algos go mad, different levels of stops get taken and the whole thing gets pretty dangerous. Not good either if you get adverse slippage.
Fortunately I'm winning more than I am losing, but I must work on improving my average gain per trade, which for the last 50 trades on EJ is running at 7.3 pips. That's still very acceptable, but room for improvement is the biggest room in the world.
