Re: Michael A's Journal
Yesterday was Monday and no Red News to get things going. Price just seemed to be range bound during my trading times of Pre NY Open to 11 am EST. Perhaps everyone is waiting for the decision regarding Greece. Who knows. Anyway, no trades on Monday. So I spent a lot of time on the AIMS Forum reading other traders Journals and technical info like Elliott Wave, relationships between M5 and M1 Alligators and AIMS Levels. Sometimes I think that the more I know, the more reasons I have for not taking a good trade set up. I want to develop the FEEL of the market and therefore the ART of trading. I need to learn to keep my left brain out of it. Todays first trade was a perfect example - I thought I was going to trade into an Impusle Wave 5 - but it didnt work out. At least my loss was small at -5.8. And then I didnt take the trade in the other direction (short) because it was into Purple on M5 and I thought it was into Wave 4 and the corrective wave and not the impulse wave. I need to learn to trade what I see and not what I think.

I used Grant's Trade Management on this one with improved results. After 5 PIPs of Profit I moved my Stop Loss to - 4.0. Price retraced and took me out but slippage was in my favor. Lost - 2.6.

Re: Michael A's Journal
First play of the day today started a bit early for me. I got to the computer about an hour early this morning and saw a really good saddle forming. I bracketted both ends using Steves multi to see where to place my POs. The short side tripped and I used Grants TM to trail candles and not let a win turn into a loss. Price Action began to hesitate and it took me out with + 9.6. Great way to start the day. Breakfast is on me guys.

This is a note with no screen shot attached -
I made a decision last night. I have been using the v5.1 template with an added indicator on my chart. I called it the Golden Arrow because thats how it would signal me that 2 moving averages that I have relied on in the past have crossed. I found that the presence of the Golden Arrow would effect my trading decisions when I should just be following AIMS. I thought about that alot and I believe that I was hurting myself by trying to "tweak" an already successful system. I decided last night to drop everything and every thought process that was not AIMS and CONCENTRATE JUST ON AIMS PROCEDURE AND METHODOLOGY. I dont have to reinvent the wheel here - I just want to learn how to spin it. Focus, discipline, patience and timing - and then action.

A very Wise decision indeed! A Strategy can not be further improved unless understood and applied with success. Besides that we are always looking into improving it ourselves and are busy day in and day out anyway! The rest of the members can just relax and apply the principles (the fruits of our labour if you like)

The Consistent Pursuit of DS1
The thing that makes me money in trading is when I "Objectively Follow my Trading Plan".

Re: Michael A's Journal
Today was my first day in the Skype Live Call Room and it was awesome. I did have to get up at 2AM and that was difficult for me but ... hearing the way Immy, Grant, Steve, John and the more experienced traders think out loud was very helpful for me. There was a relaxed atmosphere even when trades were opened. A very good experience even though Im down 3.3 PIPs on 2 trades for the day.

Re: Michael A's Journal
My second day in the Skype Live Call Trading Room and again a wonderful learning experience. I was a bit frustrated by my results today - only +1.8 PIPs after 3 plays - but I am certain to improve as each day I learn more about what to look for. No big losses any more. I am learning to minimize my risks and really cut the losses short. I would just love to catch one of those nice waves and take a good ride all the way to the bank without becomming a casualty to one of those head fakes.
