It's a common feeling. Relax. There will be plenty of trades coming for you. If the market is not providing proper setups, just sit back and enjoy the break-even mode. Sometimes DAX is having a bad mood but she will get over it, put on some sexy outfit and start moving those hips. In that point, let's hop in
Unfortunately I missed the LO Breakout, and after a move like that I stayed away from the market as I expected consolidation.
The afternoon session gave me two badly needed good short trades. First a Short Fruit right passed NEO that I entered on a pullback for minimal risk. Didn't take the AA Fruit as those news where coming up and M5 and H1 where pointing down. Then the Short Breakout which went really nice. I decided to trail the candles after the second push down. Green line would have given me a little more profit, but I was desperate to get some pips to the bank. Not the right motivation, I know, but I think trailing candles was not totally wrong at that point in the trade.

Morning session was good. Started at LO with a breakout long after a 1-2 move. Should have just stayed with the long, but turned it at the AA Fruit. Got back into the long with SAR and stuck it out through the correction to exit below Fruit. Didn't trust the market to just turn around after that upmove, so I stayed away.

Score down to 11. hmmm. Lets carry on until end of April. Then I have a plan B for you. I think I know your problem now. But you have gained a massive massive wealth of knowledge.
What is the Secret of Successful Trading?
The Consistent Pursuit of DS1
The thing that makes me money in trading is when I "Objectively Follow my Trading Plan".
I understand that I can't catch all the moves or all the signals but my objective is to catch THE VALID SIGNALS & ONLY the Valid Signals.
Hi Gregor,
I don't want to give you advice but I just want to share an observation and my opinion.
As I'm regularly reading your journal, one thing peaks out to me. If you look at your trades 280, 281. Entries were perfectly fine and exit of fruit + entry into SAR long as well. But exit of 280 was without reason below that fruit. SL should have remained below AIMS. Instead of + 64 it's only + 20. Same or similar observation at trade 274, 264 and other trades before.
I think we need to give the trades enough room to develope without being anxious that it hits initial SL so we need to be honestly comfortable with the initial risk of each and every trade. Maybe it's due to the urge to cut down the risk too much which results in hopping on and off trades too often. This cuts down the results dramaticly. Over time it's brings overall-results in trouble.
If risk is too high to me at a single trade, I 1. don't take it or 2. try to trade into an open signal with lower risk. Option 1 is definitly safer.
Just my 5 cents :-bd
Cheers

Exactly like this. Not saying that I know how these thing must be done, but at least today exactly these thing were mentioned in the video. Please have a look in my journal for one approach to this issue. It's not always easy when the initial risk is a bit high and one would like to decrease the risk as soon as possible to as low as possible. Anyway, relax and enjoy!

Plan B sounds good. I can't nail down my problem in every detail, but I think it's mainly due to overtraining in the wrong situations. Trying to make some pips when I already missed the right moves and then fighting the trend at every signal while ignoring the underlying current at the time. And then especially at those times I take risks that I didn't really accept and as consequence screw up the TM. I am looking forward to you evaluation.

Hi Michael,
your advice is always welcome. It helps me to shed some light on the area where I am having the most problems. You are right with everything you wrote. That mistake pattern show as up time and again in my trading.

Thanks Tomi, I will watch the video. You are right. As Michael has also pointed out, one has to accept the risk or stay away from the trade. Something I sometimes don't do. Especially when I have the feeling that I already missed something. And instead of patiently waiting or shutting off I keep trying and loosing.
Due to traveling, I have not been able to trade for the last two days and for the next few month I guess I will just be able to trade NEO, because of the time difference.
Anyhow, nice NEO trade. Breakout Short with one Add On. I started trailing candles after that second push down. From top to bottom the marked had moved over a 100 Pips so I expected it to consolidate for a while and didn't put on another trade.
Camp 283: Breakout Short
Trade 1: Breakout Short + 61.0 Pips
Trade 2: Add On + 31.0 Pips
