Re: Ramy's Journal (Beginner)
CPI and retails sales. Those have been working like a charm with UJ and GU.

Re: Ramy's Journal (Beginner)
Thanks heaps Tomi and Immy for the comments
I have been interested in the news for a while. No doubt the volatility on FOMC and NFP are qell established but because they are quite popular they may involve a bit of noise in the beginning or fake spikes.
I found that CPI , interest rates, retail sales are good clean spikes most of the time and good to trade if slippage/spread is acceptable.
That was just my limited experience and i will continue testing

Re: Ramy's Journal (Beginner)
We have done extensive testing both forward and backward... more often than not, in the longer term, the other news don't show a positive expectancy... the rest is up to you
You can try a service offered by talkingforex. they have a news specific past data. it would help you understand what i' trying to say. we never try any strategy until and unless we have complete analysis done over the past 10-15 years of data.

I am sure you would have done extensive research in that subject Immyimmy wrote:We have done extensive testing both forward and backward... more often than not, in the longer term, the other news don't show a positive expectancy... the rest is up to you

I have no doubt about it
I am just using the leverage of being on Demo to test things out so i would have a good idea where i am heading when i am going live

Re: Ramy's Journal (Beginner)
thats alright but will delay your training, as you have to train your demo like you were on real account.. so youll have to do that after all the testing..

Re: Ramy's Journal (Beginner)

Makes perfect sense actually
NEWS is ultra short term trading method it can take between few seconds to up to may be minutes ... allocating big amount to such thing will be a waste of money
The Setup is my primary entry no doubt and the profits no doubt will scale with he account size ... this is the real investment
