Re: Kyle's Journal Mk2
A little while since I posted. Must make the commitment to post more as the comments really do help.
Here is a wonderful trade taken last night, just before going to bed.
Quite happy to patiently wait for these setups. Seemed the Skype room went quiet in a collective holding of breaths as this trade initially moved a range of 2 pips for a few candles, before doing as we wanted, firstly going to 1:1 with the automatic moving of SL to BE by ATM, and then hitting TP of 2:1.
Truth be told, this was my first ATM trade as such, and it works beautifully well. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you don't have it. All you have to do is decide to take the trade, then leave it alone to do all the management itself.

The most important bit of ATM is what your wrote about right at the end. "leave it alone to do all the management itself". that may be the secret of success!

No trades for me on LO yesterday. No valid setups. Had a few on News Trader strategy, but a renty day with all the high impact news events

Re: Kyle's Journal Mk2
OK, let's all go hunting together
One trade for me today, and in the Skype Chatroom, Immy mentioned that it was a bit iffy maybe. Turned out to be a rent which is fine. Tomorrow is a new day and I have absolute faith in the method developed by the three wise men - or Group of three.
Questions asked for each signal that comes up
1. Trading in direction of m5?
2. Did price break out of Channel?
3. Is it a new eWave Peak (Automated)
4. Dark Bar on eWave? (Automated)
Along with Filters
1. Has TZ1 been hit?
2. Is TZ1 Near?
3. Is there Divergence on eWave?
We need 3 Yes answers on questions and 3 No answers on Filters
Nine Signals came up during the LO Session today
1. 7 ticks - PO placed and hit SL - Next. DS=1
2. Still in trade - no new position
3. Still in trade - no new position
4. 7 ticks, but PO would not have been executed
5. Short Signal, m5 A0 was Green - No trade
6. Short Signal, m5 A0 was Green - No trade
7. Short Signal, m5 A0 was Green - No trade
8. Short Signal, m5 A0 was Green - No trade
9. Price did not break out of channel - No trade
Chart attached

Re: Kyle's Journal Mk2
Welcome to 2016. A year where many AIMSters will turly push ahead and make Immy very proud of our change to consistent DS 1 traders.
I have not started my normal trading as yet this year. My son has been with me the last week and I have been making the most of that. That said, it seems like it was a bit of a hard week. Anyway, I decided close tot he last minute that I should put my news trading to the test for the first time this year with the NFP coming out, so with 2 minutes to go, I set up the News Trader and waited to see the results.
NFP was kind to us this month after a poor showing for me in December. Two trades were taken as per the chart below, however, it might be a bit difficult to see.
Gave a nice profit of 3.2 and 2.05 R's. Some nice positive slippage on that first trade. Nice to take out the week with 5.38% return for the week. Month to date. I aim to show this at the end of each week

Re: Kyle's Journal Mk2
Oops. Didn't post my trade time yesterday. Spent my 2hrs from LO, and no signals, so although I didn't act on anything, I did spend the time there, as well as participate in the skype room, so am always that little bit richer from learning little nuances etc, and keeping my mind on the right trading path.

Re: Kyle's Journal Mk2
Now, on to today's London Session.
Pretty quiet as far as valid setups go, however, we had some great conversations in the Skype room, with many of us picking something new up.
Today had one valid setup, and unfortunately, it was a rent. All the rules for taking the trade were valid, so still very happy to have taken the trade. DS intact with 1/1 this year. To be honest, I do expect to attain 20/20 with the Hunt Method, albeit a little slower than in the past. I am fine with that though.
A reminder (for me as well), the trade rules for the Hunt for me are
1. Did price break out of channel (if Yes, then continue)
2. Is it a new peak on eWave (if yes, then continue)
3. Has a Dark Bar appeared on eWave (if yes, then continue).
Then the few filters
a. Is TZ1 already hit (If yes, then filter the trade)
b. Is TZ1 closer than 2:1 TP (If yes, then filter the trade)
c. (for within the same wave) Is there divergence on the Wave (if yes, then filter the trade)
With these in mind, my trade today was 100% correct, it just didn't hit profit today. The point though, is to hit DS=1 for each trade and not to be concerned about rents. They are part and parcel of trading. We are in a probability environment, not a certainty one B-)

Re: Kyle's Journal Mk2
Well, didn't we have an entertaining London Open today. Our LO Breakout traders did very nicely, some with 4%, but as far as the Hunt is concerned, not one signal today.
Thems the breaks. Nothing we can do, so we will wait till the next session. I wont be back trading now till Monday, so my week closed out with just the one trade, being a rent and -1.05R's for the week, with a 1/1 DS, so quite happy with that. I have done what I should have done in hindsight for the week.
Back on to it next week. There will surely be more action for us then B-)

Re: Kyle's Journal Mk2
Back after the weekend away, missing Fridays trading. Just looked at Friday, and I would have had one signal just prior to the end of my 2hrs, and it would have cancelled without being opened, so no problems there at all.
Today saw a lot of movement on the charts, possibly too much volatility for an m1 trade. 150 pips up, followed by 205 pips down, but no signals for me. No issue. I didn't try to force a trade, and kept the consistency instead. I don't need to be taking a lot of trades, just the right ones.
So, it ended up a no-trade-Monday. Onwards to possibly tomorrow, and definitely Wednesday.

Re: Kyle's Journal Mk2
I have traded 7 days without a trade being placed!!!!! But I am happy about that. nothing valid that hit my screen while I have been there. That, in my mind, is trading, and not the actual time in a trade.
That said, there was some movement on the charts today, and I took a short fairly soon after London Opened, at 1020 chart time.
It passed my simple rules.
There was a break out of Channel
There was a new Peak
A Dark Bar printed
As far as filters were concerned, TZ1 was nicely out fo play and it was a fresh cross of A0, so no divergence. That said, I took the trade. Considerations in hindsight, and why so many others in the trade room passed on it included that it was only the first dark bar, normally wait for two to print, and the candle after the signal candle did go above the signal candle, although it didn't close above it.
With that in mind, I'd consider the DS a 0 on this one as objective hindsight would have had me filtering this one.
In the end, I was fortunate to get a 2R from it, so I'll be pleased for a positive result, but a bit displeased with the eagerness to enter the trade.
There was also another signal late in the session, but it too had printed just the one dark bar. If a person selected that one to trade, they would have hit BE on it.
Chart for todays entry And todays LO Session End result for today was one trade, with 2.16R from it and a discipline score of 0 for not considering the amount of dark A0 bars and the breaching of the high of the signal candle. January total so far 6.44R
All good. Live and learn from a profitable lapse in discipline. On to the next session B-)
