Lol I was exactly in the same trade on NZD/USD. I think it was a great trade compared to the entry rules. The only thing I realised when I already set the trade. Was that there only was a small sideways correction correction, who just on the fibo lines hit the 23,8 level. Then actually my target level must have been tz(a) which the tale of the lowest candle preciesly hit. When I saw that I just moved my SL to BE, because I entered earlier I was then 1:1 R:R. Anyways Next trade.
Trading is a pattern recognition game. As traders we make decisions in an uncertain environment. Anything can happen. We trade the setups with the highest probility and reflect on our trades in samplesizes of 20. It is our job to keep our mind(s) focused, relaxed, enjoyed and to trust ourself in the proces of staying diciplined to our trading plan. We plan our trade and then trade our plan.

    DS: 1 [14/18]
About the campaign
  • Pre-trade remarks:
    • H1, VL (1): Setup 1 into Wave 5 down
    • H1, HL (1): 1:1 for the first Entry

Trade campaign 19/1

Summary
  • Pair: USD/JPY
    Entry: Setup 1
    Risk: 15.9 P + 15.9 P = 31.8 P
    Exit: Initial SL/Initial SL
    Result: - 15.9 P - 15.9 P = - 31.8 P, - 1 R - 1 R = - 2 R
    DS: 1 [15/19]
About the campaign
  • Pre-trade remarks:
    • H1, VL (1): Setup 1 into Wave 5 down
    • H1, HL (1): 1:1 for the first Entry
    • H1, HL (2): TZ1(a) (as Price didn't retrace more than 23.6 % of Wave 3, yet)
    • H1, HL (3): TZ1
    • H4, VL (1): Price within a Wave 5 down.
  • Post-trade remarks:
    • There was a Red Dot at [H1, VL (1)], which disappeared after switching TF and never came back.
Usully, entering a Campaign without a signal is DS = 0.
But here, I blame the indicator and keep my score :D .
    • Recapping this campaign, Wave 5 down on [H4] wasn't clear at all. Market looks more like beeing in a sideway movement or like going into a Wave 5 up.
As conclusion, this trades should have been avoided.
Nevertheless, Alligator was open to the downside. So, nothing really wrong according to my TP.
Thus, I keep my score here, too.

It appears as if you don't give any buffer below the aims box?

you should give it spread plus a a pip or two. Moreover on your USD/JPY trade, again you've gone in too early, you should wait for gator to be inside a box. and then give it a few pips buffer so that you're not caught by silly little tiny spikes. nevermind ,both were tradeable situations. youre on the right path.

I do give some buffer: 1 Pip + Spread above and 1 Pip below AIMS Box. Would you advice to add the Spread below the Box, too?
I get your point. But, I don't want to "unnecessarily" increase the distance between entry price and SL, either.

1pip+ spread on both sides has been a staple on AIMS strategies, in case you have variable spread you might need to adjust it but its perfect for fixed spread. Also avoid markets where your broker has high spreads.

Thanks for pointing that out, Pedro. I somehow missed that fact and added the Spread only above the AIMS Box (as written in the "old" AIMS ebooks, if I remember correctly).
I use a Broker with variable Spreads.
Hence, I take the "common" Spread of the respective pair, round it to the next whole number (which should not equal more than 3 Pips) and add 1 Pip thereunto.

I use 1.3 pip + spread on shorts and 1.7+ spread on longs, Came up with that after a couple months and a couple batches, of course its broker dependant and how much it jumps on the variable spread, also I used those values for m1, now on h1+ Dont really need it and 1pip+spread is good even with the variable spread.
My spreads are around 1 to 2,5 pips on majors and 5pips on crosses, some go higher than that but avoid those.

on H4 I give 5-10 pips buffer for all trades. depending on the levels to the left. I'm not on m1 where I need to be careful about every little pip. Here on h1 or h4 and above what I need is to enter at a level that is clear or those SL areas. Where there are no orders , conflicting order accumulated. So at times you'll see me entering quite far from aims level, but there is a reason. Its ok if the range of pips increase, as it does not matter, the risk will always be 1% (in my case at least) or 2% if that is your plan. but never more than 3% per trade. EVER ... not even 2% in my case. I don't remember when was the last time I traded a 2% position. anyway, so buffer is important. lovely journal btw... always a pleasure reading your posts. @pedro, you're a star...
