trade 4, -3 pips. just installed the v6 beta on my charts and was having a little play about. I took a small loss on cable, no more trades today. I've been at it all day thanks to the rubbish weather outside and feeling tired now. Paid some rent today but overall happy with my decisions throughout the day. Well done to everyone who got in and made some good pips on the big moves of the day.

Evening everyone, another 2 trades this afternoon which could have been better but hey.
I looked for a short wave 5 on audusd 5min, stop moved to 4 pips above the trigger candle following grants 5min trade management, this was tagged on the next candle. -13.5 pips which was -0.65%. Next.
Cable short, nice smiley face on 1min chart, the order was set and soon after I was triggered in the trade below the 60min low and at that point the daily low. Looking at a 4hr chart I had identified a nice gap to a support area from the 8th june. This was around 25 pips away, I decided to target just above this area and go for 20 pips. I trailed aims boxes and had my stop at +2pips, I was tagged out of the trade and sat and watched price fall all the way to the support area.
Emotions during the trades: trade the rules what will be will be.
Emotions after the cable trade: I knew I should have stuck it out at break even look at it now! Every time I get in a nice trade I come out too early. I was pretty frustrated as this was the 2nd time this week cable had done over 20 pips without me. I tend to get more annoyed at leaving pips on the table than I do about rents. Maybe I have become that used to accepting rents at the start of my trading career it no longer hurts as much? But i'm not experienced in profitable trades therefore profitable emotions.. if that makes sense?
Actions: Had a little rant to some other traders then went and played golf. Thought about my trading and imparticular that cable trade. I didn't lose pips, I didn't make many pips. But I traded the rules, the rules said I should only come out with 2 pips. So be it. Next.

I wouldn't be that hard on your self regarding the cable trade. That was a 10 pip retrace and it would have been a brave man to have kept in there.
No one is going to bag all the pips all the time, you are trading your rules and what is important is that you stick to them at all times. Your journal just a few days ago said that when you stick to your rules you are consistently making money and that is the key to trading, find your edge and stick to it. Yes you will leave pips on the table like today but tomorrow you could be getting out for +2, it then retraces and hits your stop level.
You have come a long way Tom and have a great attitude to trading don't let things like this get to you. Be disciplined.

Thanks Richard great words of advice everytime. I try to be as open as possible on my journal, other wise there is no point keeping one. I will not be one of the 95% of unsuccesful traders, why.. because they give up; And I'm not a giver upper! lol. Forex is under my skin now it's just a case of pluggin' away at it. Let's see what 2mro brings, maybe some birthday pips!!

trade 2: audusd -1%, not so good. trading the m5 chart, but I had placed my stop at 13pips which was 1 pip below the 1min aims box. The proper m5 stop should have been around 20 pips below the aims box on the m5 chart. School boy error.
Quote of the week from another trader I know: 'A lesson is only learnt if you don't make the mistake again, until then it is just an aknowledgement of what you have done wrong.'
Ok, so for the week then.. 9 trades, 2 break evens, 2 wins for +0.5%. 5 losers for -2.83%. overall -2.33%. month to date -3.74. Start of aims to date -10.19%...

I have been away from aims for a while but decided to go for this trade, although it isn't a typical aims setup the htf direction for me was long and I went for a break of the overnight range. Manual close when the trade never really got going and ao turned dark green. +0.4%.
