That tiny seed of 14.3 pips at 06:00 on H1 came too early, that's before the time I'm at my laptop.
I was at the laptop just before 08:00 local time. That's the red vertical in below screenshot of m15. On m15 chart I could take a signal, that's yellow marked, but didn't take it.
Did I miss out?
Yes and no. This strategy is not in my trading plan. So that's why it's no. But I do feel I missed out as I could have taken the signal on m15, it would have been a good trade. This has happened a couple of times lately.
I now change my trading plan.
Taking an entry on other timeframe just to get in is allowed. The same applies to limit orders on seeds and Box breaks.
Let's see what happens.

Re: Minsk T20 - Banana 1H
Stop agonising over this stuff.... Your TIME frame of trading is H1. We do NOT strictly price action traders who don't care about the time frame but the price levels...
We care about the trading time frame because our testing has been done and proven on the H1 time frame.
In fact, the banana indicator testing on the m5 or m1 is nowhere near as accurate and profitable as it is on the H1.
The Earliest signal you and I will take is 6 am UK or 7 am your time. We don't live in Asia.
I was in Pakistan, sure I'd have taken the UJ and other yen pairs during those hours. But I'm not and you are not either. There will be Plenty of FISH... don't worry, the trades are coming. Soon.
ps: if you really to trade the m5 or m15, go to indices, NAS or US30 and you will find some WICKED setups

What is the Secret of Successful Trading?
The Consistent Pursuit of DS1
The thing that makes me money in trading is when I "Objectively Follow my Trading Plan".
I understand that I can't catch all the moves or all the signals but my objective is to catch THE VALID SIGNALS & ONLY the Valid Signals.
My Deathbed Advice "5:1 Reward to Risk Ratio".
Yo, banana boy!

I'm just a bit frustrated because I have seen too many opportunities that I missed this week. But in essence if your account is big enough, you only need one or two good trades to make nice profits.immy wrote: 14 Jul 2022, 20:01 Stop agonising over this stuff.... I don't want to trade on lower timeframes than H1. It doesn't fit me.
I won't do the lower TF entries, but will do the limit orders on seeds an box breaks.

No trades today. No nice setups on my 3 charts (EU,GU,UJ).
It was a bit of a frustrating week.
No trades done at all. I missed 1 day because I was at the office.
I missed out on trades I could have taken with limit order on Box Break or on Seed. But it is not in my trading plan so I withhold the urge to take those trades. Saving myself from DS0's.
I did change my trading plan to be able to take those trades now.
Other options I have been sitting on my hands in frustration is take the trade just for entry on a smaller timeframe like m15. These also are not in trading plan.
Let's see if we might add those.

H1-m15/m5 example, how does it look (copied from Immy)
The Concept is simple... its the TC and Micro Pullback
I can even use the H1 chart to make the entry...
First, you identify a Trend Candle, (assuming you know that everything else is clear. the Price has broken out of a TIGHT box)
TC.png (2.14 KiB)
You wait for the price to pull down below the CLOSE of the TC.
As it goes down, it creates a BEAR candle. We don't want to see it go more than Half of the TC. Should not go below mid-point.
Pullback after TC.png (2.17 KiB)
Once it does that, we see it start to resume in the direction of the trend. as it reaches the Open of the current candle under play, which may also be the Close of the previous Trend Candle, we have the chance to get in. The reason we get in here is that now we KNOW where we will get OUT. That is because we have the WICK created. IF the next candle will be a TREND candle, we are in for a GREAT lovely treat.

Didn't catch one today.
No nice setups on H1.
I missed a good one H1/m5 on EUR-USD.
Bigger candles with longer wicks dont look that pretty, but they can hide a gem within.
Learned today: don't overlook bigger candles with longer wicks.

on GBP-USD too late, I wasn't fast enough to process it all and get the order in on m15.
as per Immy's suggestion I'll stay on H1 and do only limt orders Box break and Seeds.
It would be nice though, to catch a good trade before this week ends and I have week to move house. Probably no trading that week.

No setups on my 3 charts, so no trades.
Capital preservation.
I'm getting bored.
I have to get used to that, I suspect more time on charts there is no usefull price action, than there is usefull price action.

You are getting better and better every day. As the setups start to come, you will gain even more experience.Minsk wrote: 20 Jul 2022, 17:05 No setups on my 3 charts, so no trades.

Keep doing periodic and objective backtesting during your free time.
Start from a year back. once that is done per pair, go back another year and keep back testing.
Keep the records of your backtest and see what you see...
