Re: Ray's amnesty page
I've taken a few trades lately, fortunately all of Thursday's were profitable and I've done a couple or three this morning too
The other day I saw a remark, I think it was Immy, saying EJ was his favourite pair, and I wondered why this should be the case, when the system was really written if not callibrated with Euro Usd in mind. (although it is of course a principle which works in any market even commodities no doubt).
Too early to say for sure, but I have to say that having tried EJ a few times I find it slightly more comfortable than EU. The trends seem a bit clearer

Nice one Ray, 45 pips no matter what the source is great!
Just be aware that EURJPY is trending and moving with extraordinary volume right now, it isn't always this juicy.... but milk it while you can!

Now, I choose to make a profit in trading.

When EJ will lose its 200 pips daily range and come down to its normal 120 than EU with its lower spread and stability will become comparitively better pair. For beginners EU is good because it moves a bit less violently. EJ also needs at least 10 pips SL and managing average loser less than 7 is not easy so you need at least 15pips everage winner to remain profitable otherwise you'd need over 60% success rate.
cheers.
ps: I'm trading EJ M1 since Sep 2009.

Re: Ray's amnesty page
Hi Ray, it was NFP news that comes out every first Friday on the month. Usually a big market mover.

Well yes, and what a way to start the month, with a Friday!
I think what I wanted to say was compared with the moves on other pairs which I was watching at the time the Euro Yen spiked a long way
It usually pays to wait 10 mins after the 1330 figures and then go with any newly emerging trend
I think I had about 80 positive pips out of all that. I won't declare my profit for the day, publicly, other than to say it would be satisfactory for a whole week, actually (rephrase it!) some people would be glad of it in 2 months! Some days aren't the same though!
PS Many people say NFP should be a trader's holiday. However I have found that Aims gets the session right quite often, it can be one of its best days

Yes, i believe when the markets move too fast, AIMS on m1, becomes a massive pip machine! You just need the belief to take the setup and then let it RUN!
I believe you! i know how many pips were possible today, over 200 on ej was possible. 3 beautiful setupsl 1 short 2 longs. +60 +60 + 60 and 50 from am on EJ. add EU to it and you've made more than a normal wage person makes in a whole freakin year!
Well Done Ray! (wd) (wd) (wd) keep it up! and let it run! (6pips is nothing man) let it run

Yes Immy, I think if I had 12 days like this in a year I'd be happy!
In fact I wouldn't need to work the other 343 either!
Have a great weekend

Re: Ray's amnesty page
I have traded EJ Monday and Tuesday and on each day taken about 45 pips net profit
Pair suits aims well, but it is twice as volatile as EU
----
Couple or three questions, in case any one has experience, concerning my broker and MT4
1) Trade context is busy. I've tried forced closing of trades rather than letting them fall back to BE resets.
System won't let me end the trade, saying 'Trade context is busy'.
2) When trying instant execution, in spite of allowing a big 'maximum deviation from quote price' I often get "Invalid Price" and cannot trade
3) Sometimes I put in an order and nothing happens. Even after 30 seconds it still says waiting for answer from dealer. If I try and re-do the order (instant execution), we are back to the Trade Context is Busy error.
I'm wondering if it is the broker. No names. Immy said a few weeks ago that when an account gets to a certain size it comes to their attention, and I'm wondering if I'm a marked man . It is not an ECN broker. In spite of this, most SLs and TPs get taken exactly at the ordered price.
