I'm trying to understand why your two trades went wrong.

So far as I can see the problems are
1) In the first trade the alligator had not gone to sleep in m5. There would have been a good win on a long trade a couple hours earlier, on break of upper aims level, but that would not have even been a clear signal due to the alligator not having crossed green and red lines. The market was too turbulent at the time of your entry

2) On the second trade, m5, I think you went long at a time when the market was already 20 pips off the bottom, and unfortunately you got dragged into the trade to buy at the top price. True, the AO had crossed ZL upwards, but the alligator was showing all his teeth and gums and had not gone to sleep.

Just like an alligator in a river might lurk for hours waiting to pounce, so must we when we are trading. Our heads tell us we need to be in a trade as quickly as possible after we come to the screens, but we need ever such a lot of patience to wait and wait long times for the right opportunity.

I can tell you are probably a bit fed up with 2 losing trades, and I would be the same, we can all get days like it. In my opinion I'd say get rid of the fibonacci lines for a while and just try and use the basic s1 setup, and while waiting and watching only 2 or 3 pairs at the maximum for good opportunities, I would suggest reading the manual and looking at some of Immy's videos on the forum, studying the same thing 10 times or 110 times is not a waste of good time.
I wish more people would come on here to share something on their journals

Thank you, Ray, for such detailed answer.
If i get you right, you suggest trading only HTF breakouts with S1 on m1? aka Double AIMS.
This time i was trying to trade S1 with clear trend on m5, but as i can see now, it was not a clear trend, just trending a little. May be it s a key - when market has lack of volatility, better trade only such setups.

And you advice about reread manuals - i think you right. I ve done it a few times already, but it s never enough. i guess.
About video - if you could share a link with exact video - i d be very thankful!

OK, Double Aims are stronger breakouts in my experience. It is always a good idea to look down a time frame to get a good entry, however if one were setting a pending order then it would just be perhaps a couple points outside the aims level on the higher time frame anyway and there would not be the opportunity to flick down one or two timeframes.

When market lacks volatility is it even worth trading? Or is it building up for a powerful move? For example now it is 9 am (in the UK). I have been looking at charts for 2 hours and conditions for entry have not been met. A lot of people are wondering if tensions in the Ukraine will flare up and move the markets, they are fairly quiet at the moment. I might not even find a trade for another couple hours, I will stick to my rules.

Meanwhile I have been looking at this video http://itradeaims.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=237

:)

Pretty quiete am, but managed to take UJ m5. It was really ok, but i had to go, so was sure that this trade will show itself, but was scary to follow the rules.
But i chose the safest way.

Fast DAX trade. Closed due to many pips in few seconds. I was too exited, i guess. Very unprofessional. Need to work on it.
BUt very nice profit.
