Re: Siegrid's Journal
Trade Number: 13 Batch Number: 1
Setup: Setup 1 only
Date entered: 31/01/2018
Pair: EUR USD
Timeframe: H1
DS: DS0
Technical analysis: Gator lines were not completely entwined, but were close. No clear wave count.
But, blue dot was right side of purple, exit was just below previous H1 high, and AO was close to ZL.

Trade Number: 14 Batch Number: 1
Setup: Setup 1 only
Date entered: 31/01/2018
Pair: USD JPY
Timeframe: H1
DS: DS0
Technical analysis: Again, gator lines were not completely entwined, but were close. Price trending down. Red dot right side of purple, AO was close to ZL and recent cross of ZL. DS0 because gator lines were not entwined, but were still open.
Looking at M1 has given me an appreciation of what happens when the lines are entwined, but I’m finding it hard to be patient and waiting for all three lines to be entwined on H1.

Re: Siegrid's Journal
Trade Number: 15 Batch Number: 1
Setup: Setup 1 only
Date entered: 31/01/2018
Pair: USD CAD
Timeframe: H1
DS: DS0
Technical analysis: DS0 because didn’t move pending order entry to account for smaller AIMS box.
Gator lines entwined, AO close to ZL. Price dancing around the purple line. If I had managed it correctly I think it would have been a DS1.
Because this trade hit +1R, the stop was moved to BE, but when the trade closed I still lost $17 (1R for me = $100). Did I lose this $17 due to slippage or spread? Does anyone know on where on Pepperstone I can see this?

Trade Number: 16 Batch Number: 1
Setup: Setup 1 only
Date entered: 02/02/2018
Pair: USD JPY
Timeframe: H1
DS: DS0
Technical analysis: DS0 because not all three gator lines were entwined, according to my S1 rules.
But, AO was close to ZL, was a trend up W3, pull back W4, then blue dot with red and green entwined.
On H4 could have been a W4 or new W3.

Trade Number: 17 Batch Number: 1
Setup: Setup 1 only
Date entered: 02/02/2018
Pair: USD JPY
Timeframe: H1
DS: DS1
Technical analysis: On H1 heading into W5. All gator lines crossing, but not really entwining. Maybe when they entwine and go sideways a bit more than cross it indicates more of a balance point as opposed to a rapid tipping one way or the other. Not sure which is best, will have to look back at some more charts.
AO close to ZL, red dot, right side of purple, recent cross of ZL and enough distance to TZ1 to get to BE.
Box was 63 pips, not sure if this is too big for H1. Will need to find my notes where Immy gives a guide as to what box sizes are okay for different time frames.

Trade Number: 18 Batch Number: 1
Setup: Setup 1 only
Date entered: 07/02/2018
Pair: AUD USD
Timeframe: H1
DS: DS1
Technical analysis: Red dot, right side of purple, gator lines entwined, recent cross of ZL.
Not sure how long to wait after red dot to still consider a red dot or S1 valid. For example, the pending order on this trade was triggered by the 14th candle after the red dot and by that stage the gator lines were open.
Do others have hard and fast rules in this regard?

Re: Siegrid's Journal
Trade Number: 19 Batch Number: 1
Setup: Setup 1 only
Date entered: 08/02/2018
Pair: DAX 30
Timeframe: H1
DS: DS0
Technical analysis: I am so frustrated with myself for stuffing up this trade. It was a lovely clear W3 down, W4 back up to towards purple then a red dot and gator lines entwined, cross of AO, and close to ZL. Beautiful.
But, I had been mucking about with ATM on DAX M1 and accidentally manually closed the H1 trade as well as a M1 trade. So disappointed with myself.
Also, I didn’t adjust the risk level down to account for the reduced AIMS box, so another reason for a DS0 on this one.

Trade Number: 20 Batch Number: 1
Setup: Setup 1 only
Date entered: 07/02/2018
Pair: DAX 30
Timeframe: H1
DS: DS0
Technical analysis: W3, then W4, red dot, right side of purple, gator lines crossed.
Box maybe too big initially (130 pips), but then by the time the order was triggered it was down to 51 pips, but by then the gator lines were open. I need to sort out what I am doing in these situations.
Again, I had been mucking about learning more about ATM and my stop wasn’t set on the other side of the AIMS box as it was supposed to be, so DS0 for that. Also DS0 because I don’t have a hard rule about what do to when there is a S1, but then by the time the order is triggered it’s quite a few hours later and the gator is open.

Re: Siegrid's Journal
Hi my 2 cents
Trade 8 and 9 both were ok trades, but the TZ1 being hit kind of lowers the probability but some trades still make it into new waves so not bad ones since technically they were correct breakout setups just not proper Setup 1's./
Trade 10> yes the exit was not bad, I'd have exited on box a s well. with the VIEW that if there is another signal to go long, which appeared soon after I will get back in. So that's important too. (Remember you don't need to contemplate on your exfit method for now.) You have decided already what you're going to do and y our job now is to achieve DS1's by following your trade plan till the end. This is the TEST. Don't try to improve the method at this stage. don't focus on increasing profits by finding more clever ways of trading. WE already know more profitable way of trading. This Setup 1 and T20 is your way to TRAIN yourself to follow a plan, the simplest of plans. Once you're satisfied that you are able to follow a simple plan without changing it along the way, you will go to the next stage.
cheers

What is the Secret of Successful Trading?
The Consistent Pursuit of DS1
The thing that makes me money in trading is when I "Objectively Follow my Trading Plan".
I understand that I can't catch all the moves or all the signals but my objective is to catch THE VALID SIGNALS & ONLY the Valid Signals.
My Deathbed Advice "5:1 Reward to Risk Ratio".

Re: Siegrid's Journal
Well, it’s a great feeling to have the first batch done.
Thanks so much Immy for taking the time to review my trades to date and making comments. I really appreciate it.
My discipline score was not good, only 20% DS1.
But, going through this process is great, I have heaps of room to improve.
Looking back over the trades I can see where I have taken less than optimal trades.
I will focus on Setup 1 again this batch and really tie down my rules (e.g., black diamond after dot – what to do, maximum box sizes for entry).
I would also like to add a few more instruments to my trading universe. I haven’t had a chance to have a look at what, but will do so later today.
Happy trading everyone.
