You raised my interest levels to all time high. The M5/M1 is our Edge. Which and how many pairs are you trading and display simultaneously using m5/m1 techniuqe? thanks
I replied to this earlier but it seems to have disappeared so here goes again.

I have EUR-USD and GBP-USD M1/M5 classic setup (4charts on the screen at once).

I have the following M5 pairs:
EUR-GBP
EUR-USD
EUR-JPY
GBP-USD
AUD-USD
USD-CAD
USD-CHF
USD-JPY
All M5 are 1chart on the screen at once.

I have 3 separate MT4 sessions running. 1.M1/M5, 2.M5, and 3.H1/H4. These three sessions are all logged into one Alpari account that way I only have to fund one account. I know I can use profiles, but to me they are cumbersome and having three MT4 sessions open means that you hear all the alerts from all pairs on all timeframes (sometimes gets confusing).

I don't use a laptop to trade from as I can't see enough information for my liking (age is creeping up and eyesight is deteriorating). I use a desktop pc with a single 27" monitor.

Hope this info is okay.

Richard

Thank You for your detailed reply. I know you did reply to this and I do remember it. I was just asking about what pairs you trading on M1 becasue I seem to get hanged when I try to trade 2 on m1. So Now I know. Thank You. Very good results and am very happy for you. Please continue like this and wish you all the best. Have a great weekend!

May the pips be with you!

Hi Richard,

this is absolutely fascinating. Sometimes I think I had never seen your setup, they always look so easy and I'm so much fighting whether or whether not or whatever.

On M5 you don't watch ae higher timeframe for status of eWaves and alligator, no M15 information ?

Anyway, congrats, you make dreams come true !

When trading M5 I have a quick look at M15 and maybe H1 just to see the trend direction. I don't get too hung up with eWaves as I don't understand them although everyone tells me how important they are so I am making an effort to try and understand, but am not getting too hung up about it.

I try and keep things very simple and tend to concentrate on just the pairs that show good potential and ignore the rest. If a setup does not scream trade me I don't take it.

Richard,

Are your M1 settings the same for GU as for EU? And what settings are you using for M5?

Both EU and GU M1 have the same settings. I will have to check M5 settings when I get home (currently in Denton) as I trade off a desktop pc as I use my laptop for business use only. I will post the settings on here.

Hi Richard,
Great trading as usual. A few quick questions please...
1. On the trade above in your blog when you made 27 pips ( 2.7% ) it seems your entry was at about 1.5591.
Did you place your stop on the other side of AIMS as per standard rules ? This would have been approx a 2 % initial risk on the trade if so. Or did you have a 10 pip stop at somewhere around or above the red line for 1 % risk ?
2. The entry would have been about 4.5 pips above the 5 min high...is this the amount away from the aims boxes you normally use ?
3. Do you wait for a fresh cross of AO zero line or are you happy if the AO is on the right side however long it's been there ?

Just looking for further clarity on your fantastically successful method.

Thanks & best

I am presently out of the country and not able to see my charts (trade from a desktop pc), however, I wil do my best to answer your questions.

1. Up until recently I have been using a 10pip sl on all my M1 trades. I am usually selective on my trades and make sure the sl is on the other side of the aims although this is not always the case and the trade in question was one of those. If there is plenty of momentum I will go for the maximum gains I can and 10 pips sl suits my trading style in such situations.

2. My spread for cable is 2.5, therefore I use 4 pips above the aims box. For EUR-USD my spread is 1.6 so I use 3 pips above.

3. As far as AO is concerned I try and go for a fresh cross, failing that I try and ensure the entry is within 5 or 6 bars of a cross.
