Hi Dave.

I have just been reading through your journal and I am very impressed! I have a quick question though. I noticed that you trade a few 1 min charts and I guess you wait for the gators to open up on the 5 min before looking at the 1 min - is that correct?

Cheers,

Darren

Thanks for your comments, Darren. Hopefully my journal shows some progress. Small steps at times though mate!

So yes, I trade more than just EU, and I do so on M1/M5. This is for a few reasons....

1) I've been watching AIMS setups for a while now and feel comfortable with having more than one pair on my screen;
2) I focus 90% of my attention on the M5 charts. I pay particular attention when price is around M5 levels and, as I discuss a lot, leaving the alligator's mouth for the first time. The combination of an M5 break with an M1 size SL is very powerful and really swings the probability in our favour;
3) I'm less concerned these days with the dot alerts and more concerned with exactly what the price action is. AIMS boxes show us this price action. So I'm looking for a fresh change in alligator/eWave direction/momentum on M5, then I look down to M1 and try to get the first or second break of the fractal in that direction if the AIMS box is small. Even if this is against purple it can still be high probability, especially when with the H1 trend.
4) I stick with M1/M5 because I still have a job and trading is part time for now, although it will hopefully one day replace my current job. Because of work and my time zone and particularly during winter when you're enjoying BST, I am often unavailable at FO and LO, and NYO is well into the night, so longer timeframes are not particularly manageable for me.

That's about it, hopefully that answers your question!

Hi everyone, I'm off on holidays next week for 5 weeks and I've decided that my mind is already travelling, so that's it for me for trading until August. I'll pop into the forum every now and then and I have a couple trading related projects to take care of for when I'm struck with inspiration. Anyway, all the best and see you later :D

Hi again friends, back to real life after an excellent month of travelling. Looking forward to trading again with a clear head and refined goals and objectives.

Welcome to those new traders who've popped up during July. Without meaning to exclude others, Fran I've particularly enjoyed reading your detailed journal posts, keep up the great work!

Talk to to all soon.

Nice start to the day! Add on exit at HTF level for FT. Probably shouldn't have closed initial entry where I did but was happy to bank some profit pre-London.
