Thx very much for your post Michal, much appreciated.

Regarding counting, below I share what I'm doing, hoping it could be of help.

1/ Start from RIGHT to LEFT = so taking into account the latest candle and moving backward.
2/ Spot the "BIG SWING HI AND LO". On my chart, these are RED BIG DOTS, with plain RED VERTICAL LINES.
3 Once done spot "LITTLE SWINGS HI LO" inside BIG SWING HI and LO. On my chart, these are BLUE BIG DOTS, with dot BLUE VRETICAL LINES.
4/ Now spot waves 3, using MACD indicator (bottom of chart).
Important note: On MACD indicator, you have 3 things:
- MACD itself = HISTOGRAM
- SIGNAL line = DOTTED BLACK THIN LINE
- and finally a BLUE/RED THICK LINE
---> MACD PICK shows current TF wave 3 (BLUE ARROW)
---> BLUE/RED THICK LINE PICK shows show wave 3 of lower TF (RED ARROW)
5/ Then spot DIVERGENCE BETWEEN PRICE and MACD AFTER wave 3 ---> This is wave 5 (DARK GREY THICK LINES)

On my chart, A is IMPULSIVE (so 5 waves) and B is CORRECTIVE (so 3 waves).
Following the above, you should be able to plot wave 3's and 5's.
Since wave 3 and 5 are IMPULSIVE, find the start of the "swing" ---> this is end of wave 2 and wave 4...

Et voilà...heartfully hope this could help. And yes, EW helps "understanding" where price is/should go next...

Nice trades Fran! I am really interested in how you count Elliot wave. My method is quite similar, except I don't mark all the swing high/lows like you do. Also, I use the AO rather than MACD (I don't know much about MACD I must admit) and find that it is quite accurate. Its only recently that I began trusting it as much as I should!

Why did you choose MACD over AO? Any fundamental reason, or just personal preference?

Cheers

Hi Chris,

thx for your message.

In reality AO and MACD are similar, the only difference lays in the parameters: AO = MACD with 5,34 instead of 12,26 (btw this was explained by Immy

I use OSMACD (public indicator, you can find it elsewhere on the web). It displays 3 signals: MACD itself, SIGNAL, and a third one which I display as the histogram. This third signal spots wave3 of the lower TF wave

Hope this helps buddy

Feb 26, SHORT EU, LONG UCAD

- Charts with explanations below
Main philosophy:
On H1 or H4
1/ An impulse follows a price congestion
2/ So try and spot wave C (end of correction, next will be either wave 1, 3, 5, A or C, which are all IMPULSIVE waves)
3/ Spot the congestion area, mark it
4/ Move down to smaller TF (m15 for me) to capture a good AIMS ENTRY SET-UP
EU H1.png
EU M15.png
UCAD H1.png
UCAD M15.png
btw UCHF is presenting a very same configuration (this sounds normal since UCHF is very correlated to EU). Did not take it...

Hi Michal,

thx so much buddy.
Yes indeed, I keep a (good) eye on my major time frame (either H1 or H4). If price is in an IMPULSE, then I look after SEEDS (preferably) on M15, sometimes (when I am greedy) on M5 :)
