Hi Immy,
Thanks for the advice. I did look at the trades fairly objectively and thought they looked OK, but yes, I will move to the EU and start using that exclusively until I get up to speed with it all. Strange enough, my VSA experience sucked on the AU as well :) On to the next setup when NY opens.
By the way, well done everyone on their great trades today. I have seen a number of AIMSters have managed a nice 5% on the day so far. Great to see and something for me to aspire to. Thanks also for all of you sharing your charts. It is all invaluable learning :)

Hey guys and girls :)

Here is one I saw today, however, I was not at the computer so missed the entry. Looks like a classical Setup 1 to me.

Nice to see a good winner now that I am only looking at the EU for a while. The calculations I put on the chart for pips profit etc include 2 pips as spread, which is what IBFX was offering. My GoMarkets act which I will use has EU spread down to 0.7 pips which will be of benefit to me (Pro acct that pays spread and commission of $3.50 per lot)

Kyle

Yes nice classic setup. though on m5 the alligator was sleeping or just awakening at that time and had not yet broken the first aims level below its mouth. So you had two options. 1. take the inside aims level using setup 1 on m1 or 2. take the m5 level making sure entry was not away from exit, ie. alligator mouth on m1. in both cases good pips were made.

Today in the group we traded this and of-course with variable results.

Hi all,
I missed one trade a bit earlier than would have been for a nice amount of pips, but took the below trade for a smallish rent. They are OK in my mind as nothing in this world is perfect, just so long as I chose the right setup :)
Also have a nasty case of man-flu, so concentration may also be a little affected. Good reason not to trade to be honest.

Alligator Asleep - YES
Setup Used - Setup 1
Purple Correct - YES
Dot inside AIMS - YES
Exit > 15 Pips - Yes (14.3)
Bars since AO Cross - 54
Result -0.59% from 2% risk

Maybe too far from the cross of the AO???

Otherwise, any comments are always appreciated

And now that I have looked at this again, I see that I was wrong. Alligator was awake and should have been setup 2 and entry on the break of the 2nd AIMS box. mmmm Self taught lesson there!!!!

Here is another that I wasn't sure about entering. I got the entry alert and all seemed good, but I was not sure about coming into a possible 4th Elliot Wave?

Was I looking too much into that or was I right in not going short on it for a "proper entry" as such??

Kyle

I was watching this and missed it. May be because AIMS Wave was old. Though close to zero line, I prefer Fresh crosses. If taken good, if not also good.

cheers

Two trades so far today and not doing so well. I have been a bit too quick to enter and not spent enough time double checking. First one was outside Pips range and 2nd one was a Setup 2, not 1. I made that mistake by assuming the same answer as the trade a few minutes prior, but the alligator opened up - which changed to setup 2.
Here they are for comment or other newbies to learn the mistakes from

Alligator Asleep - YES
Setup Used - Setup 1
Purple Correct - YES
Dot inside AIMS - YES
Exit > 15 Pips - NO (16.5)
Bars since AO Cross - 9
Result -0.35% from 2% risk

Hindsight shows that SL was just outside range at 16.5 pips (15 max). I had changed the AIMS values to 12 pips and trusted that. Should have been 11 pips. Invalid trade, but that is the learning experience.
2012-06-19 eu 1min aims trade 1.gif
Trade 2
Alligator Asleep - NO
Setup Used - Setup 1 - SHOULD HAVE BEEN SETUP 2
Purple Correct - YES
Dot inside AIMS - YES
Exit > 15 Pips - YES (9.4)
Bars since AO Cross - 22
Result 1.03% from 2% risk

Should have been a setup 2 entry that would not have been triggered. However, I mistakenly entered a setup 1. As soon as I set up the PO, it triggered and did not have enough time to adjust TP from Easy Order. As such, it closed out within seconds for 4.3 pip gain. In the end, it would have been another small loss, so am happy to take the profit :)

Another non-valid trade I have taken today. The learning experience continues. I may not look much further today. I have some stuff on my mind and it may be affecting my trading decisions. A close family friend passed earlier today and I thought this might keep me a bit occupied. Not enough so. Will most likely have another look tomorrow at it.

Alligator Asleep - YES
Setup Used - Setup 1
Purple Correct - YES
Dot inside AIMS - NO - Another Rule I missed!!!
Exit > 15 Pips - YES (8.5)
Bars since AO Cross - 27
Result -0.97% from 2% risk

Well, this one also shouldn't have been a trade. Dot candle pulled outside the AIMS candle. Other than that, it would hev been valid. Learning experience again. Looks like today is full of learning.

Should have noticed the green dot instead of blue. Damn!
