Re: Jacques from South Africa's Journal
Took this trade on the EUR/USD and then had to get fetch the kids. Put the broker's trailing stop on which is minimum 15 pips and the it closed for a lousy 6 pips. Is there maybe an EA where I can set my own trailing stop?

We have been working on one for quite some time now. Just too busy. But hopefully, it should be ready by Aug. Meanwhile there are loads of Trade Management EA's out there. One such is Luktom Visual Order Edition. VE AIMS is a Stripped Down Version of that.

~This Beauty was a Beast ~ It was all red news.... We chose not to trade it. But there were some great setups on m5's just before news breakouts! cheersdiepienaars wrote:Can't believe I missed this beauty. :-h Had to take my daughter to a birthday party.(

The risk looked so small - not even then? Saw there was a nice 50 pipper on the GBP/USD just after the news. Would that be okay to take?

Jaques
Soon after the news, if its a setup and risk is low it will be fine to take advantage of the momentum. Herbert explained this very nicely once in his journal somewhere. There a difference between volatility and momentum. If the markets are volatile dont trade, if they have momentum, must trade. When you have too much Chaos being introduced into the market and the market goes violently up and down without a certain direction, it is believed to be high tick/highly volatlie. If however Chaos enters the scene and sets a direction, it goes in one direciton, finds momentum in a steady fashion, get ready to take advantage. btw. Chaos = New incoming information. Every candle that breaks the high or low of the previous candle is = Chaos!
ps: I do not see any 50 pip opportunity on GU today.

Did you take an add on the Daily Chart? Or was it a Setup on lower time frames?
cheers

Re: Jacques from South Africa's Journal
I was just eyeballing my Daily charts and saw the GBPUSD July 4th candle on its way down to support of the 1.57 to 1.55 range so I thought I would just add another small position for a few pips. I closed all my positions at the same time as my EURUSD positions as price was stalling at long term support. I will go short again on a close below the Daily AIMS box - you see, they do come in useful!immy wrote:Good One Robertoldiebutgoodie wrote:I did - as an afterthought add on to my Daily shorts ( sorry, not trying to be a smart ass)immy wrote:
