DS1 - I've given myself a DS1 here, but I'm not sure if more experienced traders would call this a DS1.

I was a Setup 1. In downtrend. M5 open gator down. Setup 1 – all three lines entwined on M1. Red dot, away from purple. AO close to ZL.

I stuffed up on trade management though. Need to understand more about how ATM works. AIMs box was about 100 points. If I had of set the stop on the other side of aims I would have reached the tp on the spike from the green candle. And I wouldn’t have to had wait through that bit of a test back to the green line.

Not sure what happened here. I used ATM and it looked like the trade was on, it came up in the trade section, but then it was not there. I stuffed up somehow. Setup 1 wise it I think it was good.

Again, somehow I have stuffed up the management of this trade. Setup 1 wise I think it is a DS1. Trade management wise, I am sure it is a DS0.

I’m not sure what happened with the management of this trade. I placed the order using ATM and I thought it was in. When I checked later it was in the trade history with a zero balance. I didn’t think I closed it out, but I must have. I can think of no other reason was stopped out at entry, price didn’t come anywhere near the entry after it hit 1R. Setup 1 wise it was good. Gator closed (balance point), below purple, recent cross of ZL.

Note: I'm just reviewing these trades as I load them into the journal and I'm questioning the validity of giving this one a DS1. I think the W5 may have already happened with the prior red dot (viz., that the red dot before the trade I took was the valid W5 S1 red dot).

Again, I think it’s a DS1 for trade setup.

Looking at it again now I am concerned that maybe TZ1 was too close.

(Note: The other trade you can see to the left was a H1 trade).

DS0 because purple line was in the box. Took it because it looked like it could be a 5 up on M5 and also a W5 on M1. Also gator lines crossing, but not really at a balance point I don’t think.

Took because M5 gator open to the downside. W4 on M1, red dot. DS0 because only red and green entwined. My rules are all three to be entwined.

Took because impatient to trade.

DS0 because even though have a red dot and gator is closed the wave count is not clear. At the time of taking the trade I thought I saw a completed W3, with a W4 that pulled back to purple and then I was waiting for the W5. Now, I’m not so sure. I’ve given myself a DS0.

Entry: Feeling good about it. Open gator down on M5. Back to green line on M5. M1 exit would be better if it was before TZ1.

Saw gator lines crossing for the first time since LO so wanted to trade.

Purple was in the AIMS box – so I broke the setup rules by taking a trade. So, DS0.

Initially placed a pending order short when I saw the gator lines crossing and I though the M1 count was w3 down, w4 up and going into w5 down.

But, then price broke the M1 AIMS box up. The gator lines were still together, so I cancelled the short pending order and placed a long order using the next bar feature on the ATM.

With hindsight may have been better to place the pending orders either side of the AIMS box.

When the M1 chart broke the AIMS box up I then thought M5 looked like a w5 up.

While the AIMS box was 81 points, my R ended up being 141 points due to me getting in late and because my buffer was set at 20 points or 2pips on ATM.

I have just worked out how to adjust this (should always read the manual a few times!). I’ve changed it to 1 pip or 10 points.

So, this trade has been a great lesson for trade management.

I thought M5 was in W4 and about to head down into W5.

I thought M1 was doing the same thing. Took a pink candle – therefore DS0.

Also, the discussion on Skype indicated that the market was lacklustre. That fits with what Immy has said previously about waiting for a break of the M5 box after LO if it’s a big box.
