Only took one trade today. Didn't feel confidant about it because the US news had just come out and the big fast move right before it. But I took it any way. I'm still working on only taking trades that I feel really good about. I always feel like I will have regret if I don't take it and it moves really well but usually I'm full of regret cause it doesn't work out.

firstly just wanted to say well done for taking the 3rd trade, always tough to do after a couple of rent trades.
On the first two trades, two observations, on trade 1 you missed a few exit signals that might have reduced the rent and on the second one I had "red" US news at 15.00, so if you entered at 14.58 might have been better to wait for news to come out first.
Darn it!! I had my Forex Factory time zone set to Eastern instead of Central so I thought I still had an hour left before the Red US News came out. Thanks Mike for your comment that made me look into this.

Started out gang busters but managed to muck it up. Trade #2 5M alligator not open and headed in the right direction. Think I was guilty of trading based on what I thought would happen not on what I see. Plus there was all kinds of news happening this morning, should have quit after trade #1.

Ive been enjoying reading your Journal. I am like a sponge at this beginning stage. I found myself getting into the same situation - the set up looks good, I pull the trigger and it never goes my way but goes right in my face quickly. So I just started to deal with that differently with a stop and reverse. If the set up was a saddle - narrow up and down fractal, alligator asleep, ao close to zl, dot inside aims, purple inside aims - and the saddle holds with the opposite dot - I take it in the new opposite direction. That's worked out pretty well for me recently and you may want to take a look at it. BTW - I like your Will Smith quote - can I steal it ?
Thanks for the advice, I will start looking for the stop and reverse opportunities. You can absolutely steal the Will Smith quote. I got it from an inspirational video I found online. I'll try to send you the link for the video. It's pretty awesome....really pumps you up to go after what you want in life.

First day of trading this week. Feeling a bit distracted as I've got other things going on that make me nervous, looking for a new job so going on interviews, etc.
I've got to improve my exit strategy. So...I'm committing to this: Move to BE at +10, trail AIMS levels, exit at Dot or obvious Divergence whichever happens first.
Trade #1: +9 (Exited way too early as it went down another 60+ pips)
