Re: Kyle's Journal
Thanks guys. His memory and his acts of generousity will live on. Hit home a bit for me. He worked with dad for 20 years until he was forced into retirement, and worked in the same area as me for the last 15 years. Also 2 years tomorrow since dad passed, so has been a pretty big emotional day.
At least I have been on Demo. I will rest up now and have a read of the AIMS manual for a while, ready for a fresh start tomorrow evening

My condolences Kyle. (hug)
Let the mind settle, one's attention sometimes disperse because of emotional conditions.
I for one am buttered all over the universe today, so i may just follow your example and take a break.

Re: Kyle's Journal
First attempt today. Fell short but feel it was at least a valid trade this time
Alligator Asleep - YES
Setup Used - Setup 1
Purple Correct - YES
Dot inside AIMS - YES
Exit > 15 Pips - YES (10.5)
Bars since AO Cross - 19
Result -0.38% from 2% risk
As usual, I am more than happy for any comments

Re: Kyle's Journal
Another one that I thought was good. Am I missing something obvious - as I seem to be really racking up the rent at the moment. All on Demo and expect a few mistakes till it all clicks. I know this works, I just need to get in synch with it, and seems not to be so at the moment
It will happen though
Alligator Asleep - YES

Dot inside AIMS - YES
Exit > 15 Pips - YES (8.1)
Bars since AO Cross - 8
Result -0.77% from 2% risk

Re: Kyle's Journal
One I didn't trade, but a question arose from it.
If you get a sell alert and at first instance, it looks like you may trade towards the purple line, you do not trade. I get that part but....
What happens if the sell dot is still seemingly valid and the candle passes the purple line and pushes outside the AIMS level and is then trading away from the purple? Does that make the trade then valid, or is it a decision made as soon as the signal comes up?? If so, the trade questioned is currently in nice profit (4 pips on a 6 pip SL)
Thanks in advance for your consideration on this question

Re: Kyle's Journal
More questions than answers. Sorry about this. I will get better
The chart below had a buy alert, but at the time, it had the purple line above it. When it went through AIMS level though, it had past the purple line and in that case would have entered going away from the purple. Is the trade made invalid on the buy signal, or when it passes AIMS at this stage??
Thanks

Very good observation. Fortunatley, we have already done the check for you, thanks to Steve's genius coding. The Purple Line is inside Fresh Upper and Lower AIMS. AIMS Entry Alert checks this and when this happens it prints the dot with a colour. If it was invalid you'd have black dot. So yes it was a valid Setup. Now looking at the entry level, you had to decide. Were you going to take the inner level on m1 or the m5 level. If you took the m5 level exit was too far, if you took the m1 level there was a chance of getting whipsawed. Grant chose not to trade it based on this, I went ahead and traded. Trading is Chaos!
Good Question1
cheers

Re: Kyle's Journal
Thought Here is a good one but in the end it was more like
Not too sure on Elliot Wave theory yet, but I thought that a wave 5 was going to occur, and it confirmed just as entry triggered, however, once again, the trade fizzed out. Much to learn methinks. Although I seem to be selecting all the wrong direction at the moment, it will turn around as I learn. I will do some more reading of the manual and on to Grant's journal. Oh, I wish I could upload his thought process
Alligator Asleep - YES
Setup Used - Setup 1
Purple Correct - YES
Dot inside AIMS - YES
Exit > 15 Pips - YES (11.8)
Bars since AO Cross - 2
Result -1.36% from 2% risk
Update - On looking at it, I was trading into a 61.8 fib zone. Quite likely a bounce there and I missed it. Hindsight now says that I must look at possible reversal reasons - fib levels, previous S/R levels etc

Re: Kyle's Journal
I, too, was about to take this one.
Fortunately, me pending order was not triggered. I had the low of the AIMS box at 1.24797 and price went as low as 1.27778.
I was uwing 3 pips "spread" from the box to the pending order.
I'm sorry it dod not work out for you.

Re: Kyle's Journal
I used 1 pip below the AIMS level??? Thought SL on that one was 1 pip plus spread above the AIMS and trigger entry just the 1 pip below.
No need to feel sorry. I am going to get it right, even if I lose enough trades to reduce capital in the demo account to 50% of its start. However, I am not even going to consider going to a real account until I get it right in my head and this demo account moves to profit and I show consistently correct AIMS behaviour
