Re: Grants Journal
so that is May done and dusted...
Overall a good Month for my part time trading. As always when i get back to the pc after work and look at at the charts i normally sigh at the wonderful moves/trades that i missed.... lol
Its all part of the game i guess but is still as frustrating as it has ever been....
EU m1/m5 is still my bread and butter combination and along with the h1/h4 pairs i watch (which as usual i need to watch more closely) i have added some m5/m15 charts as well. I am in a priviliged position of testing a great tweak on the alert indy which is making all these charts easier to watch.
We all know that Steve is a full time worker and part time coder and his coding to do list is very long but when the alert indy is fully tested and released you will not be disappointed... i know us testers aren't.
For now though i will still only post on here the EU m1/m5 trades/results so the newer traders amongst us can compare..
So to May results, M1 ticked over like it always seems to, H1 was again poor due to lack of attention on my part rather than lack of good set ups and the m5 charts were added half way through the month......
Heres to a pip filled June

What is the Secret of Successful Trading?
The Consistent Pursuit of DS1
The thing that makes me money in trading is when I "Objectively Follow my Trading Plan".
I understand that I can't catch all the moves or all the signals but my objective is to catch THE VALID SIGNALS & ONLY the Valid Signals.
My Deathbed Advice "5:1 Reward to Risk Ratio".
Yo, banana boy!

Re: Grants Journal
I think this is something we all lose sight of. For some reason in the forex world the expectation seems to be that if you aren't doubling your account every 5minutes then the system is no good and it is on to the next. If we look at what return we can get from our savings or other investments there is very little that can touch this system.immy wrote:You've surpassed many fund managers IMHO
Thanks Immy and another great month Grant well done (are you not trading tomorrow?)
Richard
The forex market will pay you well for discipline.

Thanks for sharing Grant
If I could achieve 14% consistently like you have this month, I would be a very happy person
I have only achieved this once with my older trading methodology (which happened to be April).
I love how everyone is showing their work. It keeps everyone that bit more focused and helps when someone takes a not quite so good trade when people offer their kind and unemotional suggestions.
I have been a part of many forums and this is honestly the only one that I have ever seen that provides support for everyone by all in the forum. There are no contests to see who is better etc, no egos and it is just such a great thing so see.
No wonder there are so many happy people here, with a community of like-minded people all looking out for each other :-bd

Re: Grants Journal
So May has now finished in everyones world not just mine (rofl) (rofl)
Attached are the revised May totals...
H1 and m5 had an incorrect formula, so the previous pics showed the wrong % gains as i had 1% risk instead of 0.5%.....
cheers

Evening,
Work is trying its best to derail my trading this week and at the moment is winning.....
No trades for me either today or yesterday just through lack of chart time...
Hoping for some in the am.... fingers crossed
cheers

Re: Grants Journal
Afternoon,
I'm glad that this week is over trading wise. Very restricted chart time and so i felt it ended up :
Work/school hols 1
Grants trading 0
Again no trades for me today so for the week i ended :
m1 : 1 trade, 1 loss, -2 pips (-0.15%)
m5 : 6 trades, 3 win, 3 loss, +22 pips (+0.55%)
Onward and upward for next week
