Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Thanks Darren. It's the same concept I've been targeting for a number of years now. Identifying a pullback during momentum that can give rise to a stepping AIMS level, ie somewhere small and objective to place a stop loss. I'm comfortable with how I've been able to define this setup lately, in the context of trading from the same timeframe rather than CTF/HTF comparisons. So the trigger is a candle rather than an AIMS level, but the idea of push, pullback, continuation remains.
Cheers

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
A disappointing session from a discipline perspective, over-traded, and definitely the result of not trading last week, compounded by the big miss at the open.
1. A shame, moved SL to BE prematurely and got tagged out by a fraction of a pip before a considerable drop, DS 0 (because of the early BE shift), BE
2. Looking for the start of W5, but price had entered a range bound consolidation, I needed a clearer signal of resumption, and we'd already gone a long way, DS 0, -1R
3. Too far from the gator to be called my first pullback setup, DS 0, -1R
4. No worries, just didn't work, DS 1, -1R
5. Break down, pullback and continuation at cross of ZL, a good trade but closed prematurely with the previous losses in mind, DS 1, +3R.
So BE for the session. It's interesting because by the letter of my trading plan all of these entries were fine, but I know that there's a subjective component and a need to read between the lines of my defined entry conditions (call it experience), more often than not deferring on the side of remaining cautious. And this brings me to the end of T20(1) with a less than perfect 16/22. Onward and upward!

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Today's efforts, market didn't get out of its range early but I managed to get the break when it did. So:
-1R, DS 1
-1R, DS 1
-1R, DS 1
+4R, DS 1 (largest win with smallest position size. Previous trade stopped out for -4.7 pips, and the intial stop loss on this was 11.6 pips, so very close to a huge 10:1 winner!)
Sum +1R, DS 4/4
-1R, DS 1

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Missed all of the early action (there was a decent seed and a nice 75 pip move upward) but managed to time a fresh cross of ZL and a pullback for my 'first pullback' setup into a freshly opening gator. So -1R and +2.5R for the session, DS 2/2.
Probably a slightly premature close as there was a quick two candle, 15 pip drop further, but happy with the outcome. Laying bricks, slowly
T20(2) 6/6

1 simple reply , from my humble perspective... Its NOT a setup
but you know what you're doing. Just clarifying for the newbie's that this is NOT a setup and we should NOT take these entries
I won't give you DS1 on this mate

Hey Immy,
Your humble perspective has done right by us all so far! IMHO
Remember the old classic S1 type entries? Before the days of the black dot (or counting the black dot as valid). Would you say these fall into that category? Or even the brief 34 type cross and continuation?
P.s. not classifying this as a Hunt signal, although there was a nice one at the end of the price action in this pic, but I already had a position open.

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Friday's trades and another week done and dusted (haven't been able to get my December license working for Hunt indicators, anyone had any luck?)
T1: BE, LO breakout of range, SL moved to BE at 1:1, DS 1
T2: +2R, classic textbook S1, DS 1, trailed candle when price failed to make a new low on the final push down.
And for the week....
Monday 28/11: BE
Tuesday 29/11: +1R
Wednesday 30/11: +1.5R
Thursday 1/12: No trading
Friday 2/12: +2R
