Found another for the session with a really nice little tight box, and managed a fast finger exit on the hard reversal candle after the spike.
T7: +9 pips, +1.8R, DS 1

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Good evening,
Plenty of time available tonight to sit through a longer LO. Happy with the entries and the system I'm settling on, though the result for the session was negative.
T8: -12 pips, -1R, DS 1
T9: -4.2 pips, -0.7R, DS 1
T10: -2 pips, -0.2R, DS 1
T11: +1 pip, +0.1R, DS 1
T12, +10 pips, +1R, DS 1 (though if being critical my exit was poor, looking for a winner to wipe out the previous losers of the day plus some. Rubber band was in effect and I could have trailed my exit more closely for a relatively neutral day overall)
I've come to the conclusion that trading M1/S12 suits me. But that with so many potential setups I can be very choosy in what is perfect and what isn't. So new wave on M1, first/early pullback, and cross of ZL for W4 confirmation on S12 is now a must. Not just close to ZL, it has to cross to reset.
Cheers

Good evening,
T13: -14 pips, -1R, DS 1
T14: +17 pips (slipped!), +2R, DS 1
And some commentary on the entries I didn't take:
10:17: box too big
10:26: box too big, too late in M1 wave
11:09: reeeaaallly like this on M1, first break down and cross of red, first pullback, but was against M1 purple
11:24: M1 AIMSwave divergence, too late in M1 wave
11:58: Looks pretty good but would have been the third pullback of the down wave on M1, too late in M1 wave
Sticking with the "first pullback on M1" principles, and catching the entry with a Setup 1 on S12. So price crosses or breaks out from the alligator on M1, and AIMSwave is new (not a huge retracement from a previous peak) and get in early and if I miss the early pullback or it doesn't setup on S12 then the wave is old and I need to wait for the next.

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Good evening,
I spent a good amount of time through the weekend going back over old posts, journal entries, and generally reconnecting with the forum. It's funny how the same ideas and principles still ring true and the questions and ideas I had then, I still have now.
One thing that jumped out at me (again) were Adam's Apples, and timing the bottom of W2 or W4, corresponding with a HTF pullback that will gives rise to a stepping AIMS box. I'm all about catching the pullback that will produce an AIMS level, and so on demo again today I had three entries at LO.
The first was a normal sort of S1, the second an attempt at an Adam's Apple, and the third an AIMS break with continuing momentum. Interestingly, following the M1 wave up from LO and looking for the pullbacks that will give rise to a new AIMS level, and then to Fruit candles at the peak of these pullbacks and in combination with a rising AIMSwave, there was another great entry at 10:26 that could have given at least 4R.
Keeping my eyes peeled for an addition to my entry technique and some practice while still on demo, and currently liking these Fruits at the peak of W2 or W4, together with S1.
Cheers

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Hi again,
Found another nice setup. I acknowledge straight up that I got lucky - while playing with and getting used to Steve's ATM, I had a fixed SL instead of a trailing the low SL, and it kept me in this position. Nonetheless, this is the setup pattern I like and the setup pattern I want to trade. Trailed candle lows once it came back inside green for +9.5 and +10.5.
Clear HTF direction, pullback to a new level, take the continuation.
Cheers

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Good evening,
A lot of movement on the DAX, right from FO, but a disappointing session for me from an execution perspective. I didn't quite achieve what I'd set out to achieve. Time away is part of it and training my skill again, and then learning ATM, and a moment or two of distraction.
Nonetheless, four entries for sum +10.7 points. I shouldn't be disappointed with the result, but I am, and more so with the execution in a market that offered plenty of opportunity.
The first was a Double AIMS short from M1 and managed on S12 and it just didn't work out on the LTF.
The next picture shows the setup I should have taken next, but I was distracted by the earlier entry and my mind was wandering into ways I could have justified staying in the trade. I wasn't in the Now and missed the clear break and 1-2 to a Fruit and an S1 as an obvious setup.
Then the last image shows an attempted Adam's Apple for a rent, and then a successful Adam's Apple and add-on, but with an ATM error. I moved the SL on the heavy rejection candle, and then meant to trail boxes but instead trailed candles. All those arrows are the ATM chasing my pending entry down the stepping boxes!
Anyway, there's always tomorrow and I'm happy with how my return is feeling overall. Notably from a patience and discipline perspective. Maybe I needed to grow up a little bit!

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Good evening,
A nice LO with volume and setups aplenty. I felt closer to the type of execution I'm targeting, though did miss another Adam's Apple type, peak of the new AIMS level pullback Fruit candle.
And while the first trade didn't run I'm very happy with my entries, and my management in giving it a chance. Sometimes trailing AIMS levels will work out and sometimes and won't, and if ever there's a time to give things a chance it's when three positions deep, protected against loss, and only 7 minutes into a session.
So two campaigns for +16.3, +2.3 & +1.5 and +24 for +44.1 pips.
The next picture shows a couple really nice setups on the following down trend. I didn't take them because the wave was against purple. I'm thinking though that against purple on M1 isn't an issue as it's the red line of the HHTF. And so maybe is too far up the chain to have significant impact on micro S12 waves. I'll continue to watch this closely. **Edit: circled the wrong bit on one of the charts. But you get the picture**

How's this 1 pip Adam's Apple Fruit for a 30+ run!
Would I have traded it though? M1 shows clear direction, open alligator, new peak of AIMSwave, stepping up AIMS boxes, and a pullback to the new AIMS level.... maybe?! Looks good!

Apolgies Dave
Hi Dave
Firstly thanks for sending my pm. That prompted me to actually cehck the forum. I must confess, I have not checked the forum in the past 2 weeks or so. Or if I have , then I have checked for normal stuffr but not actually read journals. You have REALLY started your journal. Its awesome to see that...
I'm going to look at your trades and probably reply to some of them
cheers

Re: Dave from Sydney's Journal [Awarded Title: the Box-Trader]
Thanks Immy,
I'm certainly enjoying the forum and the journal space again. Though the strength and power of the group is in the way everyone interacts with and supports each others trading journey, and at times it seems a little quiet in the Journal space. I'm happy to try to influence that where I'm able!
Quick trade at LO today. M1 was perfect, new AIMSwave momentum and peak, open gator, pullback to new level. S12 box a little big but out of range and on top of the HTF fractal is perfecto... probably a premature close though.
This is not Setup 1, but the M1 pattern is the same and the LO volume qualified the entry for me.
Cheers
