Ed's Fruity Journal
Hi everyone,
This is my first entry into my first journal here.
I've done a lot of forum and AIMS pdf reading of late and decided I would start trading with the Fruit strategy.
My plan is to use the DAX30 on a M5 chart for trading around the FO or LO open times. I will also trade DAX30, EURUSD, GBPUSD, EURJPY, USDJPY, AUSUSD and NZDUSD on the H1 charts for more easy (time wise) trading during the course of the day. I work of course of I won't always be able to trade.
Like everyone else, I shall post screenshots of my trades here.
Oh and I should mention, I'm trading on a very small live account; tiny lots. I do appreciate what demo can do but I think the extra pressure live brings does make a psychological difference in one's mind, that demo cannot replicate. Rather like how people bet on poker when the money is real as opposed to say, matchsticks.
Wish me luck!
Ed

Re: Ed's Fruity Journal
So... my first ever trade using the Fruit strategy.
Luckily enough for me, it turned out to be a winner.
The fruit signal appeared at 7:35am GMT. There was, I believed, good separation between the red and blue lines and the price bars. I took the initial trade below the fruit bar as per the rules.
I then added on at the break of first AIMS box level which had appeared - on the 8:00am candle.
Pictures work best I guess...
For a first go, it turned out well, but my question is: could I have handled the exit differently? Should I have done an Stop and Reverse when the first "Long" fruit showed up? Should I have left the stops at the initial fruit bar level or did I do the right thing to move them down? I did so because the price moved quite quickly initially.
Thanks all,
Ed

Hi
Congratulations on taking the decision to start your journal. May I suggest at this very important point of your trading career to apply the T20 technique.

Re: Ed's Fruity Journal
So, I took a second trade on DAX 30 M5 today around 14:50pm GMT.
This one went against me. For -15 pips.
My question to you more experienced Fruit traders is: was the set-up incorrect (not enough separation between price bars and gator perhaps?) or was it just a loser you get but nothing was actually wrong with the set-up?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks all in advance,
Ed

Re: Ed's Fruity Journal
So... I took a third trade in the evening of the 9th March.
It was on the DAX30 H1 chart. I shouldn't have taken it really as I KNOW that volatility drops a lot and the market doesn't move. I held it overnight however and as I was awake traded it according to the Fruit guidelines anyway. Hell... I'd made the mistake of taking it, all I could do now is trade it properly if possible.
Anyway... long story short, it turned out well in the end as the chart picture hopefully shows, as the trade moved into the 10th.
Other than the wrong time of day, how was my entry in terms of price moving away from the gator? I think ok but perhaps there should have been a larger divergence?

Re: Ed's Fruity Journal
So, trade number four for me and "rent" time. -84 pips!
Took it based on the Skype chat but think I may have got things wrong...
Think I took add-on somehow before it broke the AIMS box.
Where did I got wrong on the initial set-up?
Cheers,
E

Re: Ed's Fruity Journal
i suppose your add on was a market order as mine was not touched. instead we went long at the high of that fruit. you should hopefully see the specimen in Peter's journal.
