Stefan's Journal

Unread post by bowfets »

Hi All,

I have been trading on and off for a period of 10+ years switching from method to method with moderate success. I recently purchased SNORM's ewaves indicators and completed the course which for the set me on the right path to becoming consistently profitable.

As I lack discipline and structure with my trading I found myself beginning to overtrade, take entries that were weak or incorrect, exit too early etc... So I have joined AIMS to provide the tools, support, and discipline required to follow my plan for being a profitable trader.

My Trading Plan is a work in progress but to maintain accountability with my trades I will do the following:

Pairs
EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD, USDCHF, USDJPY, USDCAD, NZDUSD

Timeframes
Trading 1HR timeframe only and monitoring markets for entries from 0900 to 0100 hours AEST. This will be achieved using push notifications to mobile when not present.

Indicators
I will be using the suite of AIMS indicators with a modified AIMS Entry Alert 5.1 allowing for push notifications.

Trade Rules
Setup 1 only
Risk 1% live account $1500
R:R 1/1
Max 30 pips Exit Point.

All set and excited to be commencing this journey!!

Thanks everyone! :D

Stef

Trade #: B1 – T1
Date/Time: 9/10/2018
Pair/TF: NZDUSD H1
Signal Type: S1 SHORT

Thoughts and feelings: Pretty happy at the time of entry, with Gator sleeping, AO close to zero and a 25 pip exit but feeling nervous with previous box structure low to push through, possibly not the strongest setup?

Comments After Exiting the Trade: Trade triggered at 09:03 with a strong push down before failing to break lower than previous box structure. Reversed hard and stopped out. On review I did not like that alligator was trending upwards and price forming higher highs and higher lows, also entry should have been set at previous box low but exit would have been to far. Perhaps purple line was too far from box also? Summary: although a setup wait for the strong ones!

DS For this Trade: 1
DS Running Total: 1/1
Outcome: -1R

Trade #: B1 – T2
Date/Time: 9/10/2018
Pair/TF: USDCHF H1
Signal Type: S1 LONG

Thoughts and feelings: Meet’s the 3 rules but not super confident with this trade after entry due to previous failures to push higher. Feeling PO should have been at previous box high but as this would place exit 37 pips away perhaps wait for a better setup.

Comments After Exiting the Trade: In review not the best setup of all time! Box range although acceptable was quite high for my liking requiring a 20 pip move from setup to entry, then just 9 pips further was a previous box high which price failed to break through before reversing and stopping me out. I did follow my rules so receive a DS score of 1

Hi Immy,

Appreciate the advice, and Yes I am trying to get the market to make sense to me. Overanalysis is one of my drawbacks hence I have the innate ability to engineer a loss out of a profitable system/set of rules.

Trade the setup!

NEXT... :D :D

Trade #: B1 – T3
Date/Time: 9/10/2018
Pair/TF: USDJPY H1
Signal Type: S1 SHORT

Entry thoughts & feelings:

After being stopped out in my first 2 trades feeling a little nervous! Looking at the setup although gator is sleeping it has not been for very long. I would prefer more consolidation and a tighter AIMS box. Also 2 previous box low’s that price needs to work through. DOT candle was cusp AIMS box, further from the purple line than I would like & not the same trend as higher timeframe… Not a high-quality setup.

Exit thoughts & feelings:

Out of the 3 trades so far I “thought” this was perhaps the weakest setup only for it to turn out to be a monster! IF I did not follow my discipline criteria I would have closed the trade at BE on the correction following my entry… I will be changing my focus from trying to make sense of the market to things I can control such as my mindset and goals… Quickly learning that the market does not care what I think and feel so just trade the setup!

DS For this Trade: 1
DS Running Total: 3/3
Outcome: +1R

Trade #: B1 – T4
Date/Time: 11/10/2018
Pair/TF: GBPUSD H1
Signal Type: S1 LONG

Entry: I took this trade because it provided a Setup 1 and met the 3 rules flowchart. That is what stage 1 is about to achieve my discipline score. I would not have normally taken this due to: Trade has already moved from a TL4 break to TZ 2 meaning I am potentially entering at completion of Wave 5, the price is a long way from purple line, entry 65 pips from exit….. But it was a Setup 1, met the 3 rules so the trade was taken…

** Reflecting on trade 65 pips is WAY to far for my exit point. Max of 30 - 50 pips on 1 hr chart for my trading plan. This will be a DS-0..**

Exit:

Took a small loss on this as it did not meet the Setup 1 flow chart rules being a 60+ pip box. Happy to be out of trade based on this.

DS For this Trade: 0
DS Running Total: 3/4 (74%)
Outcome: -0.2 R

"entry 65 points from exit" = against Flowchart. Not a setup 1. but you know that
